I just want a date. I honestly wouldn't care if it came out in 2011, even... Just something to look forward to.

Expectation leads to disappointment. If you don't expect something big, huge and exciting, usually...uh...I dunno...it's just not as...yeah.

Been there, done that. That got old. :/

Yeah, weren't they going to write a book a long time ago? Something like Turquoise hexagon scripture or something? :?

And when it comes to MDG, He never truly gave a time frame for the new album, he only said they were working on it. So right now I've got my trust in him that he's telling the truth and Warp are waiting for a good release date.

But if 2011 rolls around and there's still no album, I'll be pissed.

Wed Jun 09, 2010 5:37 am

didnt MDG say it will be a 2010 release?

Yeh he did, and that has been mentioned hundreds of times in this topic already.

Not really, but sometimes I feel like that. I can't help feeling sometimes that they make music for themselves, not because people love what they do, but because they love themselves. For years I wouldn't believe this about FSOL, but then it turned out to be true, and then they released 'The Isness', and I realised it really was true.

This will probably be seen as utterly repellant iconoclastic rantings. But I really do question the philosophy of some artists. How many people here wouldn't kill at the chance to see BOC live? Yet they know it's never going to happen unless they're elite enough to work for WARP records. As far as I'm concerned music is about the fans as much as the music, sometimes people just want to get together with hundreds of other people who 100% share their devotion to a certain sound, and celebrate their mutual love of it. How amazing would that be? Yet it appears to be totally beneath BOC to even consider it.

LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE
/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE
/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE
/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE/

Ever feel rejected?

You do realize there are countless artists out there creating for themselves or just for fun. You could quite possibly be missing out on some of the greatest creations you could ever hear/see and not ever know about them.

Have you ever considered the possibility that when the first BOC release came forth, that at that time the band thought it might be fun to do. Or that possibly the music was passed on and they got the offer to get signed and again thought it may be fun to pursue.
But over time the novelty wore off. The constant criticism and over analysis of absolutely everything they do became tiresome or simply just too annoying to deal with.
Perhaps it was more fun to be making music for themselves. For there own group. With no pressure. Not everyone is out for fame. It may have had it moments.

They have no obligation to make music for you. Perhaps the label if there was a contract.
But why would anyone feel compelled to put time and effort into a production for you people, when comments like the one I've quote come pouring out with almost clockwork regularity.

Appreciate what you've been given, and quit whining like a bunch of spoiled brats. They didn't need to let you hear their music to begin with.
