Will that brotherhood be joining a metaphorical feast together, with the tracks being what we consume? Or will we merely be feasting on morsels and scraps (the possibility that it is just music they listen to and not their original music)? Either way, at the very least, we've all got our tickets for this extravegent ball, and the only thing left to do is be in attendance, present and accounted for. Happy listening.

Well written, Mozart. Regardless of the content we'll feast upon in ~4 hours, let's all enjoy ourselves and be happy to hear from the brothers after all these years!

Whoa! What if they play nothing but their favorite tracks by us fans?! Maybe that really is what societas means! They just pull a bunch of tracks from One on Twoism, Lone, Com Truise, Weathermongers, etc.

I have read people suggesting BoC might play their favorite songs/music from bands that have influenced them. It is an interesting idea, but if the songs are not by WARP artists, do they need to pay copyrights to the owners of the songs? After six years it would be surprising to me if they don't show part of what they have been working on. This is an excellent opportunity to get their new material presented even if it is just a few pieces here and there.

"Societas" can also be connected to the idea of secret societies (Bilderberg group, inter alia), and themes such as occultism, masonism, etc. A title that is very Geogaddyesque.
this was exactly what I was thinking, that or a mix of when they had more than one member like maybe during the wheeltower days
And don’t worry, i will be recording it to my reel to reel then transferring to DAT then Sony Soundforge for astering!

That would be great. Thanks so much!

As far as I'm aware NTS will pay a blanket licence to cover all music played on the initial broadcast, regardless of who owns it. One of the joys of it being a radio thing I guess.

It's been so long since I've had a good bit of speculation

As soon as I heard about it I was thinking 'mix tape'. That weird old tracklist they gave out all those years ago has always been interesting to me. The idea of made up acts, defunct bands and side-projects. Magic Teens.
It's also a radio show - sort of - so it might interest them to play with that format. Not to go full-on presentational, but something. Jingles, interference, short-wave. Maybe.
As for new material, I'm sure we're going hear something we have never heard before. Might be a sneak of some near ready for release or an old thing we will never hear again. I don't think it will be all new or even close to a majority. More likely a bit of a nod to old stuff that leaked and then moving on. I gave up on a boc's set a loooong time ago.
There's an argument that this for the casual as well as the die-hard fans so I'm not expecting anything too deep. Mostly well known album stuff, influences like ISB or Stevie Wonder and new obscure stuff they like. Two hours is a long time so we might get some really long tracks.
Overall I expect it to be full of treats, but not a major release of unheard and new stuff. Great, but not what we'd all most love.

Please let me be wrong and for it to be everything we always wanted.

Nightmares on Wax was full of influences. For one.

Just wanted to say how thankful I am to have a place like Twoism to visit when something like this is happening. This is an exciting day indeed! If I could buy ya'all a round right now, I would (if you're in Boulder, CO, I actually will). Cheers to my fellow BoC fans, and happy listening! :) *tips one out*

Let's say they end up playing a mix of tunes they like, old tunes of theirs and new material. Is there anyway for us to know what is what? I haven't noticed track listings for anything on NTS thus far.

Edit: And I realize we'll probably be able to tell the difference but I'm talking about actual ID's. Is one of you crazy bastards going to be listening with Shazam running? :D

Today is the opening of a certain Star Wars related attraction at Disneyland.
From what I can find in but a few minutes of research, it would appear that the scene within the picture used by BoC for Societas X was finally demolished for the opening of said attraction. I could be wrong, though. It is either that area or the area directly adjacent.

Hello everyone. I don't know if it has been mentioned earlier in this thread, but it's quite likely that they'll play a song by Mark johnson : he his the one who shot the video in 73 that gave the artwork of Societas X Tape and was cited by Marcus in his ideal Campfire Mixtape.

Well, the Cement Gravel Rock video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMlu6KR3kcM) was uploaded by a user named 'marksjohnson6' which is quite the coincidence considering the Campfire Mixtape that came up a few pages ago.
