thats the problem these days... albums come out one day and forgotten the next. all of this will definitely make the next BoC album very memorable

I think the first number (1977 as hinted at by Julie and Candy) will be the one that is broadcast on TV, now that radio and the internet have been covered

An alien broadcast hijacking a regular broadcast? References to an age of Aquarius? This has to be what the 1977 is hinting at

that's a great idea.
it will be nice to go back and remember all this craziness.

Itd be nice if someone made an artwork ;)

It's hilarious seeing news sites going on about this, the forum super active, Pitchfork posting updates, and then you go to boardsofcanada.com and the most recently updated news is "BOC releases available at Bleep.com" and "Boards of Canada - Official YouTube Channel"

Someone mentioned a color coding connection with Catalog 3, Acid Memories, Closes Vol. 1, Hooper Bay and Play By Numbers. That's a total of 5. Add a new album and you have 6 (and 6 number codes). Could one number set be for each one? This may have been already been mentioned and it's probably waaayyy wishful thinking (especially after a few whiskeys), but all we can do is get caught up in the speculation right?

So if the numbers fit the scheme when reversed - perhaps it's a clue to reverse the audio of that particular track? Probably just grasping at straws here.

Also, anyone notice the odd sounds at the beginning of the NPR track? They're definitely not present in the bbc version - I'm about to check the others. Maybe something maybe nothing.

I recall Peter Serafinowicz saying on UK radio that BoC would be releasing a double album. Makes sense if they are releasing all this old material.

i guess warp has taken notice of the nonsense over here, and has come up with a just as silly game to keep the punters happy. well, what can i say, i'm still here. oh god....

I will laugh if I'm wrong but it feels too right. The nostalgic video footage from the youtube video I posted, the fact that it took place on TV (an avenue that has not been exploited in this campaign yet) I will be very surprised if this is not what 1977 refers to.

You forgot BoC Maxima. Some sort of insanely overpriced Warp boxed set of all six of the old albums with full color pictures and embossed braille lettering?

SOLD!

I don't know if people have made any progress on the Little House on the Prairie stuff yet but I was messing around searching and plugged in "Little House on the Prairie new seeds" (from nuevas semillas) into youtube and one of the top results is a video posted a week ago about how lots of the cast members of the show came down with "mysterious" illnesses. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPiUdfdgUjo)

The youtube account is full of conspiracy stuff. It's likely nothing but good for a laugh, just found it the timing strange. Also, the description of the episode "Money Crop":

"A university-educated farmer named Joseph Coulter convinces the farmers to buy new hybrid corn."

what if the old ones are shit though, just teenagers fiddling about? i know it's romantic to think about hearing those fabled albums (if they even exist), but most of the time things aren't released for a reason.

I bet we've already heard a lot of them in some form or another from the Random 35 Tracks Tape
