Something strange just happened on the BoC Facebook page.

Everything related to our favorite Scottish duo.

Pop quiz.

Is this:

a) a bonefide Warp viral in the build up to a new release?
b) another hoax from a college kid, albeit a very good one
c) a Record Day promo using old, unheard clips from the vast BOC archive.
c) another thing to put down as 'I'll wait until Warp announce it, BOC down half a dozen interviews about it, play some of it live, it's then ordered, bought, delivered and it's on my own turntable for 12 months and then - THEN! - I might just believe it's a new BOC record.

I want to believe. To be fair, something feels right but I've said that before.

Either way, the buzz still has me a little excited.

No harm in following this closely and speculating as others have said

If nothing comes of it, I've still got plenty to look forward to in 2013 music wise anyway.

Now, let's all stay calm and avoid hype until we get some confirmation.

Fredd-E is contacting MDG to ask him about it. We should know soon whether or not this is for real and if it is, then we can start getting all hyped.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

I had a dream a long while ago about something like this. It's the mystery numbers that really remind me of it. This is surreal.

Fake. It all looks a bit too scripted to me.

1) A record with the bag still around it to prove it was bought in a shop.
2) An audio recording with playing vinyl as a prove it's actually is coming from the vinyl itself.
3) A song with random numbers on it.
4) Only one copy(yet)
5) A plain cover with a lot of XXXs on it in the same font style as the BoC logo, whilst most releases have their own.

All this proofs to me that someone tried very hard to make it look legit.

man oh man oh man oh man

Edit: yes, could be fake, but if it is, it's certainly the most convincing i've seen.
Also, what the hell? I just don't get the fake release thing. Sure, it's funny once on April fools... but yeah, it's just.. kinda numbing after a while

Looks like 136557 are the numbers on the vinyl, which is the hex code for Turquoise.

136557 Neleus is the name of a minor planet.

These days I err on the side of 'hoax until / unless verified'. But if it IS a hoax, you gotta admire the effort - it looks and sounds like the real deal.

I may be a *little* fucking excited.
I'll see you when the sun sets east, don't forget me.

This has all the trappings of some university kid's term paper experiment on the viral spread of information through the internet. Take it with a *giant* grain of salt until WARP confirms or denies. No reason to wet your panties yet.

You'd think we'd have learned to be careful with Reddit group-think discoveries after what happened this week related to the Boston Marathon bombings.

All of this keeps me holding my excitement just yet. But nonetheless I posted it on bocpages facebook. At the very least it's yet another confirmation of how fast things can get viral.

Just awaiting a confirmation now so we can wrap it up if need be.

It's certainly the most effort put into a fake release I've seen, if that's the case.
You're gonna carry that weight.

" I think that if all of the numbers are gathered and arranged in a proper order, we might be able to figure something out, so we just need the other 5 people who found the record (or maybe they haven’t been found yet) to reveal their numbers and where they fit in the sequence, and then of course, have to decipher what the numbers together mean.”

Interesting. Will see how this turns out. *fingerscrossed*

Excited! So, this record is 936557 and there are six groups of 6 blanks on the front sleeve. The x s could indicate the 936557 goes in that 'slot' with the other slots filled in from the other discs? Trying to work out the numbers significance, could be some kind of count to something or a code? Maybe phone pad letters, 36557 could map to 'folks' for example.

Oh man I really hope this shit is real and not some over the top hoax / joke. If those vinyls are real, damn they will fetch some hefty prices in future

Hoax or not, just goes to show the love for BoC :)

I hope there will be a new release soon, can I wait, of course! Would rather a decent album of quality material than something that has just been thrown together.

If this is a hoax, it's well done and credit to the sod who birthed it. However, if it is a hoax and I find you, I WILL poke you in the eye! lol.

The 4chan pic has already been confirmed a photoshop. Completely different sleeve altogether and the smudges around the logo and the hand.

Just seen! What a shame, it is quite obviously on second glances. Guess we'll have to wait.
