Yeah, that's what I've always heard. I didn't know that other people never heard the "very small" part. It's always seemed very conspicuous to me.

I find it funny that they sampled Bob Vila a couple times. The most obvious samples being at the end of Concourse. I find it funny just because I grew up watching Home Improvement on TV and Tim Taylor's arch-enemy/competition was Bob Vila lol.

I didn't know that was the same guy. I used to watch that show all the time.

Only just realised that the distorted voice in the intro of XYZ is actually saying "X Y Z"...

Not sure if this has been posted already but...

I recently got a new car with a very nice stock sound system (9 speakers + sub) and I heard 1969 in a completely new light. There is some SERIOUS sub bass in that track that totally changes the impact of the chorus, so awesome (and highly recommended).

Been five years since I started listening to boc religiously. I noticed many of the interesting melodies and sounds that come out upon reversing it. I even released a remix album of TCH in reverse with added percussive to make it more enjoyable two years ago. Fredd-E actually shared it. I was surprised. Anyone hear heard "The Phasefire Camphead?
you don't care to hear until you listen

The secret message "One got fat" on the Julie And Candy video is an anagram for "Goof at ten", likely referring to the Adult Swim clip for Tomorrow's Harvest that aired between 9:00-11:00 pm.

Everyone go home and listen to Oscar backwards

The whole thing

The sheer amount of immense detail in every single one of those reversed sounds

This is why I love Campfire.

This isn't about the music, this is about album art.

Today, I was staring at the cover of TCH while listening to the 45 RPM version when I noticed this:

Looks kinda like a baby duck to me.

I hear this recurring "powdery" expanding/compressing sound in a few tracks, like In diving station over the piano. Can anyone recognize what makes that happen?

It's and lfo (low frequency oscillator) modulating the volume of white noise, while the the lfo rate is changed.

That's actually in reference to a popular fan video for Everything You Do is a Balloon. The video source was of a bicycle safety video from the 60's called "One Got Fat", the annotation on the Julie and Candy video wanted people to go to that video. Since it's pretty popular people made the connection and went to the video, and I believe there was a variation of the xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx code added as an annotation as well as a comment left by Hell Interface leading to another clue.

Dandelion has some weird effects on the vocals. Thought it was my phone copy just distorting it due to compression but my FLAC vinyl transfers have the same thing.

Probably just mostly from sampling it straight from the documentary's old film strip.

Actually, after listening very closely it almost sounds like VHS tape warble flanging.

In another thread, I noted that the laser samples in XYZ are from Fantastic Planet. I tried to find the post, but could not. I'm not digging through that many posts. I don't think the wiki ever got updated, however.

the coolest thing i can think of right now is the reverse rhodes piano arpeggio in the second half of tears from the compound eye. i always thought it was just an overtone from the dense synths but the more i listened and the more i worked with my own reversing rhodes lines on tracks, i noticed that, then i played it backwards, and it was like christmas morning.
