Looks like the post has been taken down. For those that missed it, new 10" vinyl release forthcoming on Triassic Tusk featuring a remix from Boards of Canada.

Nice, I wonder if the details leaked too early. I wasn't expecting any remixes this year with the new album coming later on.

November 10th at the very earliest, December 29th at the latest

While Opothecary is confident in his prediction, I should perhaps make it clear to the less frequent visitors that, as yet, there is no announcement about a possible upcoming release. There is alot of speculation in the usual thread, however

The Sexual Objects are great so this is fantastic news. Also "Sometimes" is a really solid track so this will be a really interesting remix for sure.

HOLD ON A SECOND.

An event in Glasgow for the launch of a remix EP saying that boards are 'On remix duties'... On remix duties that night?
Is there, however small, a potential that Boards are going to be doing some live mixing or is that too much of an out there suggestion?

Obviously I am aware that the interpretation of that will be BoC on remix duties in terms of the album being released but the way it was written is somewhat open to interpretation.

Good marketing

It begs the question, given the fact that they might be in the state of mind to avoid building things up in such a drawn out but intriguing way as we saw with TH, If they where to potentially perform in a 'small' way i.e remixing someone elses work live would they be in positions now just to almost spontaneously show up on the night on very little notice rather than to get the entire internet awash with fanatics ?

I watched a documentary a few months back about the rise of the Edinburgh punk scene in the 70s which featured interviews with Davy Henderson from The Sexual Objects and previously The Fire Engines. It was mainly about Scottish labels Fast Product and Postcard records rivalry. I'm pretty sure it was called The Big Gold Dream. Worth a watch if you can find it. Anyhoo...Edinburgh musicians tend to mingle and I guess it sometimes results in remixes.

The Sexual Objects are my favorite! I'm excited.
