The results of Youtube's scan of the whole mix to find copyrighted content is already visible here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXV1dsx5yfs (click on Read More and scroll down).

Also, if anyones into collecting tapes, there is an original 1985 cassette of Doxa Sinistra - The Other Stranger going very cheap (€9) https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/978059830

Just noticed that the radio scan at the very start of the mix seems to include a snippet of Dance With Us Lord from later in the mix. Right after the "astrophysics, medicine, biology and technology" fade in.

^ Great catch! One day I'll cross paths with the classical snippet that plays half a second after that during the radio scan as well.

the only thing that we know for sure is that it was released on vinyl, as vinyl crackles are very present during the whole track.
at 1:34:56 it also sounds like something had hit the turntable during the recording.

I heard that too, I think it happens 2 times. For all we know we could deal with sampled drums and vinyl crackle was there to begin with. Hi hat sounds like a drum machine and the snare sounds very suspicious.

Some previous comments about the "fretless/bass" track in the last couple of pages made me go down a weird rabbit hole..."Julie and Candy"..."a musical"...my brain randomly thought there may be some link to Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews) and "A Spoonful Of Sugar" (candy, obvs). Searched for some out there cover (jazz/lounge) versions of 'Spoonful' on You Tube and Discogs with no success...maybe someone else with more musical chops might have some success? Just a thought.

Probably not much to read into, but boctransmission retweeted an article which has the line: "Rumor has it, the mix even contains as-yet unreleased BoC music."

Personally I don't think there's any.

You may be right. Even that edit of Grace Jones/Aquarius could be someone's edit off soundcloud.

I would be quite surprised if the track at 1 hour and 52 minutes is not BoC.

Time shall tell. I definitely can't say for sure. That's the magic of the mixtape, though!

The Aquarius samples are too clean, plus it doesn't make much sense to me to include a fan edit like that. It's most def an unreleased Boards remix, whether it's MHTRTC era or recent just for this mixtape we don't know.

lol@edit off soundcloud.. It's a fantastic track, no way that is from a fan

Yeah the idea that the Aquarius/Illusion/Slave to the Rhythm remix is "a fan edit from soundcloud" is fucking laughable. Come on.

I have not seen a real solid update of the track list that has been floating around since day one. Because I am a bit anal retentive, I wanted to make one of my own.

There are a couple things worth noting about my track list:

- My recording of the tape started with the Warp30 bumper. I listed it as the first track. Every time I hear it it reminds me of how awesome that weekend was and how great the whole Societas X experience was. So, I consider it part of the set.
- Any track that is still undiscovered is listed as Unknown. I put comments in [ ] as I saw fit. My list still retains most of the descriptive aspects of the list found on BOC Pages.
- I separated the Grace Jones / Imagination / Aquarius medley into three different tracks. I may change that if I can think of a better way to tag it since it is not exactly Unknown.
- I also left the bumper at the end because I could swear I did not hear it any other time the whole weekend. I feel like it might be something they made for the event. Please correct me if I am wrong.

As I was compiling my list I was listening to the recording and keeping track of the time code in my audio editor so I could note the transition points. There were couple neat things I missed the first few times I listened to it:

- The end of Egberto Gismonti's Jardim De Prazere suddenly speeds up when the Mother Goddess bit starts. It's as if they pressed fast forward on a tape.
- Track 39 on the track list at BOC Pages is incorrectly labeled as an interlude. It is actually the start of the next track on Jean-Pierre Massiera's Horrific Child album. You can even hear it in this video. Hilariously the cutoff point in the video is pretty close to the one in Societas X. That Horrific Child album art is awesome, by the way.
- The interlude right after Dance With Us Lord sounds almost identical when you reverse it.
- The string interlude right before the Bruce Haack track almost sounds time stretched. You can kind of hear that 'pull and snap' sound that that effect tends to cause. I might be hearing things though.

Here is my version of the Societas X track list...

Haven't seen this posted here, but in case someone here doesn't check the reddit forum, there's a massive search of a mysterious song pressumably by the same band that made the "such a long time ago" song.
This is the subreddit

My first instinct would be to listen to every record Pino Palladino played on.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pino_Palladino
But it might not be him. It doesn't quite sound like his playing, more like someone imitating his sound because it was very popular back then.

I think it's a stretch to say they're presumably the same band. I'm sure in the 80s every town had a band making stuff like this which never got past the local scene. There's mountains of this stuff out there (and that's just the stuff which has made it on to the internet).

It's just two tracks which need an ID. Both happen to be 80s post-punk style, and are both being searched for in 2019. Beyond that, there is no similarity, personally I think there's no way they're the same band.
