A friend of mine who was into Boards Of Canada randomly dmed me about a moment ago saying they found a site that told me what the meaning of the Magic Window.
https://truthandmysteries.com/magic-window/If you don't want to click the link, in short, Magic Windows are frequencies used for "coupling to and bringing energies from other dimensions." Others say they are used from communicating from one dimension to another, and the supposed frequency ranges include various ranges including 150 - 160 khz. My friend knows it says 162.225 MEGA Hertz on the vinyl edition but they think it's just an error.
What do you lot think?

Magic window is a broad word with many many definitions and it's also a toys and some other things.
The brother's have said in an interview the reason it's there is just so people can have a quiet moment after the album before switching to the next. They didn't like how people listened to an album and flipped immediately to the next.
As for frequencies, you will find nothing on magic window quite simply because if you owned the vinyl you would realize there is just no grooves on that side of the vinyl, so any claim of frequencies is just false.

“ there is just no grooves on that side of the vinyl, so any claim of frequencies is just false”
OP isn’t saying there are playable frequencies on the vinyl, but the record itself has that frequency written on the label in the place where the other 5 sides say 33rpm

Well put.
The amount of possible meanings for Magic Window is almost list worthy. I love hearing about new interpretations of the track title.

This post is not about the length of the track or the track itself for that matter. It’s about the frequency posted on the vinyl label:

I’ve always found the explanation on bocpages a bit weak (
“This is a frequency used by the military or coastguard […] it is a frequency used in the UK for (licensed) private mobile radio services”), so this topic provides an interieur angle for sure.

On the old website, the track was listed as "magic window fnord
Therein lies at least one major meaning of it.

have we all forgotten one of the most important parts?! without magic window, geogaddi's runtime wouldn't be 66:06!

They even said in an interview that the dude from Warp, Mitchell or whoever (I don't know) suggested it and they thought it was funny and went with it.
But the frequency! What the hell is that? Is that in every record? Is it for any purpose? And what is that frequency for?

The "magic window" is a concept simply saying that waves at those certain frequencies somehow open your awareness of other dimensions, or something like that...i.e., "play a sine wave with a frequency of 160 kHz and see god." It's a cool novelty thought, very in line with the a = 432 Hz nonsense. As already stated, this song is just there as a breather and a bit of a joke.

But the question about the frequency being printed on the label. Why that frequency and what does it mean? Is it something pressing factories do to signify something?

That won’t be anything to do with the pressing factory. BOC will have specifically chosen that number to be printed on the label. I think OP’s guess that they have got the order of magnitude wrong sounds possible, but that specific number obviously is meant to mean something.

I only know it as a special attack from "Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story".

It's a radio frequency but for what purpose?
It's used in the US for the Dept of Energy, USPS, Forest Service... It seems like it's just a normal frequency but... Perhaps something was being broadcasted on it at some point after the release of the album?
Or perhaps they are trying to draw attention to the various entities that use this frequency?
Hell, maybe they sampled audio from it.
