did he really? mf claimed the boc maxima CDr isn't real iirc. he also claimed he had "the original cassette without liner" for R35TT, yet 2 years later on WATMM said "Unfortunately that is the only tape I don't have an original of, but the person who sent it to me identified it as being OTV1"

dude's full of shit imo. and fuck his paywalled forum.

Was he really? Remember Twoism was actually in the know. We got to change our forum banner during the TH viral campaign.

They’re finishing up some work on a few records then it will go to production but production of vinyls is backlogged and still working at a slower rate than normal - could be 3 months, 6 months 9 months more! That’s all the information I’ve got.

Some quotes from this article to put things in perspective and adjust our expectations:
Over the past 18 months in particular – since the start of the pandemic – “it’s just got unmanageable”. Even an artist as powerful as Taylor Swift had to wait months for her vinyl to be produced: her album Evermore was available digitally on 11 December 2020; the vinyl release followed on 28 May 2021.

But the world’s record needs are served by fewer than 100 pressing plants worldwide, and New Statesman data shows that these plants are meeting just half the estimated global demand for vinyl. “You asked, ‘Is it going to get to breaking point?’” Morrison says. “I’m wondering if we’re there already.”

Major labels have the market power to push up prices on records they know will sell – huge pop releases such as Eilish’s, or classic reissues by acts such as Fleetwood Mac or Madonna – but Morrison can’t be so confident. “As prices rise, people will be less likely to pay for more indie, risky music, the stranger stuff – and that’s the area I work in,” he said.

As an independent musician, Tweeddale relies on her fans buying physical merchandise to support her career, particularly after 18 months of limited touring opportunities. “How do you explain to your fanbase that they have to wait two or three months to listen to your music, when they can go onto a streaming site and play it instantly?” she said. She too is worried that fans might not be able to afford vinyl as prices increase.

Vermeulen suggested that to return to “normal” lead times at the current demand, at least 300 extra presses would be required globally. But the manufacture of vinyl is a complicated operation that requires specialist workers; the process of setting up enough new presses will not be a quick one. Progress is being made in the UK, albeit slowly: a new facility, Press on Vinyl, is due to open in Teesside, reportedly creating 30 new jobs by the end of the year.

Let's also take into cosinderation Flying Lotus his latest album got a digital release in April and it took until September for the physical release...

So then I suppose, if something is actually coming soon, they're just waiting to have the physical copies ready for release before they announce it...

If that's the only thing we're waiting for then that's incredible news and those two random unverifiable and incredibly easily faked comments support this. The increased social media presence could also be explained by the vinyl backlog as well, since everything is now theoretically done with the album and they're just kinda waiting around now lol.

WARNING SKEPTICISM AHEAD: However if the banner change was to signify a large step towards release like the mushroom cloud banner for TH did, then that could also mean they've only just finished the music and they still have all the meetings and planning and artwork and packaging and legal stuff and vinyl/cds manufacturing and this and that and this and that and etc. etc. etc. etc. ... . .. .... . . . .. . to go through. Add onto that BOC time and we're still a ways out...

Either way though, the banner change is a huge event and both mean that we're at a 'when', not an 'if'. :D

Personally though I subscribe to the "everything is done and they're waiting for the records" theory because I'm an optimistic fuck and me wanty a new boccy.

Yep, I was wondering about joyrex, since he played a role in confirming that TH was coming. Although it’s true to say he was probably jumping on the bandwagon. I do dislike the fact that you have to pay on his forum and the fact that as the runner he’s not straight with the truth.

Yeah I like the banner, I’m typing this on a mobile currently, and I keep having to switch from the bluey tapatalk mobile version to desktop full colour with all the bells and whistles because it’s just a treat! WATMM is so hard to navigate but when it comes to twoism, simplicity is king :D

Because I’m an a optimistic fuck and me wanty a new boccy

You and me both! :}

Luckily the banner change is already over one year ago. A lot can happen in one year I reckon. The artistic process, the actual writing of the music, is what takes the longest time, I think.

Let's have a look at a brief timeline of events:
Spoiler: show
One Year Ago:
YouTube comment by Jaimieboy on "Boards Of Canada - Boc Maxima (Full Album) HQ Edition" Image
PS: I've contacted the guy and I've got no reason to believe he's a troll. So there's that.

September 2020:
Hell Interface YouTube Channel: Pioneer plaque banner (possible metaphor for announcing the new album?)

PS: Noteworthy they changed their HI page's banner. So maybe we get a HI inspired album?

April 2021:
Hell Interface "I feel good" video (possible metaphor for them celebrating having reached another big milestone in the production process?) (ps: again a HI related update)

July 2021:
Warp hired a new Supply Chain Manager (shipping BoC worldwide? a daunting task!)

About a month ago:

Jaimie recently backed this one up on my bocpages Instagram account. So there's that.

Now:
Video posted on Instagram. Official BoC social accounts (Twitter and Instagram mainly) are liking posts such as "new album please?".

Make of that what you want, but it definitely increases my optimism a notch. :D

I had forgotten that original comment by JaimieBoy. Why would a sociopath choose to mess with such a small niche? Occam's Razor.

anyone interested in metal infused electronic music, check out Blanck Mass, especially the album "World Eater", and "The Great Confuso EP" which features Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.

- he is also one half of the electronic duo Fuck Buttons which also have metal elements in their work.

Electronic breakbeat infused metal? Igorrr are a good example of that. Try tracks like ‘cheval’ or ‘Downgrade desert’

There are a lot of different 'me's, you know. There's the mad me, when I get angry.
