SallyBear wrote:It was called davidsfac or something and it had ALL the information and BoC fan could ever need. I was in dispute with a fellow SLSK'er the other day who spent a lot of time downloading my collection of BoC only to try and trade me some (fake stuff). When I tried to explain to him that some stuff was NOT genuine that is available on the 'world wide web' he did not believe me, I mean you only have ot listen to some of it to clearly HEAR that it is not BoC but I directed him to this web site and it was not there any more. There was a message saying that he has no room for the stuff any more.

I wish I had the info, hmmmmmmmm

I am pretty sure peoples here already notified it, and it is certainly a (strange) mistake, but on the warp website in the releases part of the Boc page, Geogaddi is said to have been released in 2007...

A thread where there's no news about BOC that's for sure.

That said, the new OPN and Bibio were pretty stellar and I'd recommend hearing them if you haven't already. They've helped fill the void a bit for me. Mr. Wilkinson and Mr. Lopatin have similar mindsets about nostalgia and electronics as BOC. Bibio, as we know, has been endorsed publicly by Marcus and while I don't know how they feel about OPN, I feel they must have some respect for his loony approach to nostalgia music.

Other artists who BOC like who are releasing or have released stuff are:

Steven Wilson: Harmony Codex (BOC Twitter liked his release for The Future Bites.)
Sufjan Stevens: Javelin (this one is heartbreakingly good. Sufjan has an amazing track record)
Peter Gabriel: I/O (Marcus followed him on IG and Twitter which is amazing because I'm a long time fan. Pete's released 10 out of 12 songs and they are some of his best in a long time)

Meat Beat Manifesto also released an EP early this year. I own it. Pretty rad acidy stuff.

This has actually been a pretty active year for BOC related or endorsed artists. So I'm sure they have a lot of vinyl they've picked up recently while they work on their own release.

Yes! I'm glad you have been embracing the pleasures and mourning of Sufjan's new record as well. Got to be one of his most balanced, digestible, and sincere albums in quite some time.

It took a while to sink in, but Javelin is gracious to me in the context of his partner's passing, both orchestrated and thematically on love and loss.
(I have been happy with it's reception as well, suffy fans are the best.)

Definitely album of the year material but I still need to hear a lot more first. I'm sure BOC are delighted being fans of Seven Swans. It reminds me of earlier whimsical Sufjan with a touch of his Christmas music's goodwill and Adz/Carrie sadness.

Like the OPN album, it really doesn't add anything new other than give us another blast of top notch, high quality songs and sounds.

In addition to the Twitter activity. Has anyone mentioned that a couple hours ago mikesandisonofficial’s threads account tweeted “official boc page over on threads.

Sorry I’m at work and would post a picture. But alas cannot.

Honestly everything I just typed made me feel very dumb.

I honestly hope they are setting something up on Threads next week. They constantly direct us to these locations but then never post anything. It's a case of blue hexagons :P

I think Mr luminous ducks forgot that Neil Krug directed the video and that it was made in the states. There's no mention of the brothers having been actually there when the video was shot AFAIK

It was the light reflecting off the hat and the hair on the nape of his neck that raised some eyebrows. Personally I have my doubts, I wouldn't put it past them to use AI just to get under people's noses.
