Maybe two girls the brothers liked in the school days?

The background sounds a lot like a school yard full of children being played in reverse. I've always thought of something similar to the cover of Hooper Bay whenever I hear this track anyway.

Judging by the name Candy, and the fact that they used a porn video in the Invocation, it might be the first names of two canadian porn stars. =/

Just a couple of thoughts on this video, is it possible that the recording may come from the Lighthouse gig? As far as I can tell, both live versions are identical to the soundboard recording, so why is it assumed it's the ATP version? Is it because the ATP film used a supposed soundboard version of Echus?

There's even a possibility that this version of Julie and Candy isn't even a soundboard recording at all, instead it may just be unheard studio version. I'm sure many musicians record alternative takes/mixes for a lot of their music. More than likely it is just a soundboard recording, but I just thought I'd throw this suggestion out there as a possibility.

Finally, when the voice comes in at around 42 seconds, it sounds to me like a muffled version of the guy saying 'number nine' in The Beatles' Revolution 9. Anyone else hear that?

You're right it pretty much is identical to the Lighthouse show version as well. When I made this thread I think it was before I had even heard the Lighthouse show, so that's mostly the only reason.

Also, you could be right about the number nine voice sample, I can definitely hear that. I had always just thought it was a sample of.....how do I describe it....like the noise a rope might make if you pull it through some kind of hole....like what's at the very end of this track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVWEqQnjT0M

I'm pretty positive the track is from the ATP show because there's also the recording of A Beautiful Place Out in The Country from that live set. if you don't know what I'm referring to here's the video " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFyck-8l ... plpp_video "

The children's laughter is much more present and its got that extra synth at the end. some different sounds right after the song ends. also cool drums at the end lol

Wow I had no idea that the version from ATP 1.0 was any different to the actual EP version. I might have to pick up the CD. There's a lot of great bands on there too.

It's been that way for a while, I'm not sure exactly how long. Three months at least, since there is a comment discussing it from 3 months ago, saying that "uaevuon yera" could mean "new year".

Seems this thread was bumped after 8 years with a spam post for an MP3 converter.

But it's made me notice something I hadn't ever before (from a few posts up):

There is an alternative edit of In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country on the "All Tomorrow's Parties 1.0" 2xLP. It's the same version that was played in the Live @ ATP bootleg recording (starts with the drumbeat)

Working Youtube for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39lFARIVp40

There's a post above suggesting that this could be a soundboard recording from the show, but it cannot be. The compilation was released in March 2001, and the show itself was in April. Also the credits on the release say this was "recorded at the Hexagon Sun Studio". Still cool to have this version though, and the 2xLP is still cheap on discogs for the completists :]

Also, well done ArbitersGround, for calling this back in 2011...

I think there's a recent post proving this is mostly true.

Aye, I've seen this before. It's from 2009 and it's probably from a Hexagon Sun member. The visuals there are the same ones played at ATP.... or was it Lighthouse.. one of the two anyway. I'm hoping it's ATP as that means soundboard recordings exist of the all the beautiful tracks there.

That does look incredibly similar. But I can't seem to find the skier in the full blue outfit.

Yep, it's also missing that paraglider shot, and none of the suits seem to be pink either.

The colors are blown out in the live visuals--the reds are deeper, the blues are deeper.

There is no paraglider in the music video--they are hunched down over their skis as they brace for launch. Would you mind citing the time in the J&C video you're referencing?

Amazing find writetomhatcher!

I wonder how this source material would have been accessed. No YouTube back then, and I doubt this would have been online anywhere at the time of the ATP visuals.

Thanks, outhudd!

It's so funny that the source material is from New Zealand public broadcasting. I especially like the owl eyes they have in their logo. I'm sure they accessed it through a library--I imagine that's how they accessed the Sesame Street samples in work leading up to and including geogaddi. But yeah it's funny that I'm only able to discover this source video thanks to a 2015 YouTube upload! More fun facts: According to IMDB the full video is 23 minutes, and the video is rated 6/10.

I wonder if there are any audio samples also taken from this, or if the music that is playing might be related to any SXT artists--it definitely has the same eclectic feel.
