Dust Is People

Made in the period shortly after I stopped working casually as a house cleaner.

For each track I used a Yamaha RS7000 to sequence my Eurorack modular system through the use of MIDI-to-trigger and MIDI-to-CV converters. A module that is featured heavily is the Mungo Enterprises g0 Granular Processor. It is insane. I got to meet and hang out with John Pillans who runs Mungo Enterprises when he moved to Melbourne. He designed the g0 along with many other unique synth modules that can make up an entire system.

I was able to film a few of his in-person gear demos. The videos can be viewed in a playlist here:

I guess I'll post this here too. I just released an album under my Clown Chops alias called 'Music For Data Moshing To'. Here's some free codes for Twoism forum members (and/or lurkers):

There are videos for all the tracks, here are some highlights:

This track has a 4 minute guitar solo, but it's actually a pitch-shifted bass guitar believe it or not:

This video has album tracks interspersed with improvised jams that are not on the Bandcamp release. For the jams the audio was captured as room sound via the camera mic. My studio at the time was in a closet as you can see:

This one for the last track of the album uses footage from a forgotten Aussie TV dramatization of true crime hacking exploits:

I've created a public MEGA folder with a further 12 albums and EPs going back to 2006, in MP3s or WAVs:

https://mega.nz/folder/9sUjmKIQ#7zuV89lIM5M0Rpewn66PxA

I like MEGA because you can listen to albums of WAV files on the MEGA app on a phone. It has most of the functionality you'd expect of an actual music player, but with 20GB of storage for free as well.

100% of Bandcamp proceeds for the above releases will go to Greenland: Alone.

That is such a cool idea? I didn't understand the power of MEGA until now. This is awesome, I'm an og megaupload user. I should give it try hah!

It’s pretty great. Given we are in 2025 streaming in high quality should be the default in my opinion. Having said that, since mentioning MEGA can do this, I’ve had intermittent problems getting tracks to load to stream. So it mostly works I guess.. EDIT: Also, when streaming on a phone the playback is likely capped at 16 bit, so any 24 bit WAVs will not play in full resolution.

I also uploaded another album I found: “Wrong Answer - Wrong Answer” (could only find mp3s of this one) going back to the years before 2006.

There’s also 2 more albums that are compiled from past tracks that I want to release but they will require additional editing, mixing and mastering. So I will post them here when I get that done in the next couple of months. Thanks for your interest. :)

Here is something a bit different from the rest in so far as it features me rapping. As a teenager in the mid 90’s a friend and I used to record by overdubbing cassettes while using a Casio SK-1 for beats (1.4 second sampling time at 8-bit 9.38 kHz). We called ourselves ‘Technique’ (not realising there was a group already called that). Here’s a couple of my solo tracks from that time:

Then in my 30’s when I moved to Darwin after I went vegan for the first time, playing a lot of basketball in the tropical heat and listening to Terence McKenna lectures I decided I could rap again:

As for my ambitions going forward, I think I’d like to be known as the Raygun (Australian Olympic breakdancer) of IDM.

*I defy McKenna though, I actually DO believe. And I don’t do drugs much (only on a special occasion [once in a blue moon type thing]).

Edit: footnote.
