Try listening starting from the 1min mark. Listen to the ambience behind the drum loop. And listen to the flutes around the 1:58 mark. Tell me that's not a boccish moment?

I can see what you're saying that it's a little boc-ish, but not enough to the point where I think a boc fan would like it if they can't stand autechre. I love autechre though, even their less accessible works (I started with Confield and it's maybe my favorite still).
I don't think anyone else sounds like autechre really, you can't wipe their finger prints off their sound. I can see them as being on the same family tree as boc though, and to be fair I don't know if I ever would have given autechre a chance if I didn't get into boc.
I came from a more guitar oriented background and it was hard for me to break open my head on electronic sound for awhile. I feel like shoegaze paved the way for BoC for me, and then BoC lead to aphex twin and autechre et al.
