Apparently.
Rearrange the following words into a well know phrase or sentance:
It. I'll. See. Believe. When. It. I.

I actually think it's true this time.
I think it'll be great, as well.

I think it'll be fascinating to see the press and fan reactions when the new album arrives considering the time that has passed, how legendary 'Loveless' has become and all the imitators that they spawned since 1991!
But yeah, exciting news. Kevin says he's been spending late nights in the studio so I reckon it's definite this time.

Do you feel like listening to every Boards of Canada release and doing extensive research, too?
Oh, and Slint!

Just downloaded Loveless, MBV was always high on my list of checking out but never did it. Half way through Loveless now and I just bought Loveless and Isn't anything online, even though I don't really have much cash.
I'm guessing I am really going to love MBV.

In celebration of My Bloody Valentine's new remaster of Loveless being premiered as a 128kb internet stream I've decided to make a song in it's honor. I took a lossless version of the remastered track "Only Shallow" and layered a phase-inverted 128kb mp3 of the same track on top so what you hear is only the artefacts created by the mp3. The cd was "painstakingly re-mastered by Kevin Shields at Metropolis Studios" so we could hear it with this added to it.

ha man what a dick move! I'm lolin' but if you don't want to listen to a stream, no one is making you.

I have a pretty good ear for music but Loveless is one of those albums I have always struggled with. I've had it for about 20 years and have never seen what the fuss is all about. Maybe one day

I'm sorry but at the risk of hightening any tensions I agree. I messed up the address to where my CDs are being posted, but am waiting and waiting still. There's also an interview with him and Pitchfork and yeah, he knows exactly what he's talking about.

New MBV would be so perfectly timed for the long summer I have ahead of me. Cmon Kevin share the wealth.

Really enjoying the E.P's disc from the reissues - some stuff on there I'd never heard before...
Hopefully we'll all live long enough to hear some new music from Sheilds....

Can't link as I'm on the hoof at the moment, but there's a great interview with Kevin on The Quietus.
I know genius is an overused word, but...

Really struck me listening to the Tremolo EP and Loveless, how much some of the short pieces between the main songs are like BoC short beatless tracks. The one between To Here Knows When and Swallow is gorgeous.

if their cover of Wire's map ref 41°n 93°w is any indication the sound of their work in progress, it will be worth the wait i reckon.

read this today at work. His anecdote about holing up in a studio for three days to scrape the tortoiseshell off a pickguard while everyone assumed he was working made me feel really good about the days I hole up in my studio and listen to music and read.

I thought this as well. Great minds
I also draw parallels to both bands being perfectionists, and the time they take to release records, also with BoC admitting they are influenced by them I can see new Boards material taking simliar time between albums as MBV did with Loveless and the possible forthcoming release.
Well, we are well over half way through 2012 and according to a few sources over at the MBV forum there is material imminent, but Kevin Shields is notorious for his studio hermit approach so it could be another 5 years for all we know.
I was so surprised to see them get the remasters out.
Maybe with the Japan tour dates coming up this is a sign of something approaching, a tour and new album?
I am drooling at the thought.
