A Few Old Tunes inspired album

Hi there. I've made an AFOT inspired album of sorts. Basically the idea behind the album is that you find a tape in your attic, without any labels on it, with those tunes on it. Who recorded it, what for, when was it recorded? You've got no idea. The only thing that is important is the music. Cheers.

I actually wanted to write a bit more about this album. It was recorded between 2017 and 2022. Heavily inspired by BOC, obviously. Those are rough demos, from an era where I started to record music. Not mixed properly, nor mastered. Some of them were lost in a computer malfunction, and retrived through recovering software, but those were only copies of mp3s I've send to friends. Not the Ableton Live masters which I could edit and finish.

I actually was heavily depressed during that era, and recorded only while feeling like I've got something to convey. Recording sessions usually span for only a few minutes, with certain exepctions, because I've always felt like its losing something when I take to long to perfect the beat. I was heavily inspired by the process of old school beat makers, and resampled a lot of my own guitar playing, and making it sound like synths, etc.

This music is about a process, of going through a dark night of the soul, so to speak, and getting out at the very last moment, that I could get out, without commiting suicide, or going into a mental hospital. It might sound like simple tunes, but there is a lot of emotion behind it. More of emotion, than intelect, so to speak.

I'm actually turing more into a different style of music at the moment, more based on acustic guitar, and vocals, but its only in the making at the moment.

Huge thanks to Boards of Canada for literally saving my life, because without their music I would not be here today. They came to me while I needed them the most, and made me turn into music, instead of drugs and mental illness.

I only wanted to share it with other people who might understand, being BOC heads. Its made not public on YT for a reason. I want to move on with life, and music, but always have a feeling that this music should be heard by someone else, other than my friends, who know me, and my story. They feel what I've tried to convey, others might not. But thats life, right?

Its symbolic in its nature. The footage was taken from an old project that me and my friend has created. He created the model of the Citadel, inspired by his dream. Underneath there are tunnels, which are unaccesible from the base level, only from the editor, but we deleted the original files after compiling it, so it is no more possible. I've created the level design and music. The light symbolises Conciousness, the level itself and the Citadel from the outside represents what is visible in ourselves and outside ourselves, while the tunnels underneath represents the unconcious, and the unknown.
