Hi folks, sorry for the kind of cross-post, but my new record "Yule Mutate" is out on bandcamp, spotify and all other streaming services. I'm really vying for exposing this to twoism, because I feel like it really belongs here. That probably sounds presumptious, and maybe it is!

The project is essentially one whole long stream-of-consciousness-thing. It's a tapestry of tunes woven from my dad's cheesy old christmas mixtapes, as well as some absurdly cheasy 70s-80s romance mixes...The tapes were very warped and riddled with noise to begin with, so naturally they were ripe for sourcing. I sampled them on trackers, made tape loops, ran them like hell through effects and resampled them, rinse, repeat, recycle etc.

The end result feels to me like some weird, dream-like hypnagogic beat tape. Also it felt apt to invoke some sort of strange paganism in terms of aesthetic because I was essentially "reversing" & "inverting" these christmas tunes into something slightly unsettling, strange and otherwordly. Hence the "Yule Mutate" title.

I hope people consider this record and give it a listen. I'm more than happy to answer questions about the tunes or sounds if anyone likes!

Thanks for bearing with me,

Harp loop have a great vibe, i did not listen to the album yet, but I hope to :)

The prod make me think about Odd Nosdam, the track is full of very nice details and subtleties, thats my kind of jam. Great work !

Thank you so much! Odd Nosdam and Clouddead were a big influence on how I sampled and time stretched drums for the project!
