The harps and trumpet (?) are an odd choice, but they sure work.

Are you sure you got the right track?

Well, around the 02:30 mark those instruments come in and do their thing until 02:55 where the ethereal vocals take over... That's the right track right?

Yeah, that's the right track, but I don't hear any trumpets. Maybe there is, sometimes it's tough to distinguish the instruments they use.

Well, mabye it's a tuba... Either way it sounds like they are utilizing a brass instrument in a part of this track.

'Hankie' By Aphex Twin

This is track 04 off of the UK edition of 'Selected Ambient Works Volume II' so not everyone heard it if they bought the release on Sire Records. That's unfortunate because I think it's one of the best tracks on the whole album; it's a pretty disturbing piece, kinda like having a really shocking and painful revelation...

On top of 'Hankie' there is another track called 'Stone In Focus' that was only made available on the UK vinyl release of SAW II. It is really beautiful, contemplative and over 10 minutes long. I'm not sure if it was ever made available on Bleep though...

I love "Stone In Focus"! I had to download it, but nontheless it's still incredible. My second favorite right after "Rhubarb". :D

Cripes! And you know what's worse? I was wearing an Aphex t-shirt during my last post. Now, I must don the t-shirt of shame...oh wait, I don't have a Moby t-shirt!

'54 Cymru Beats' by Aphex...

One of my favorite tracks off of Druqks. I just love the part at about 04:50 when the music just fucking flips out... Like some kind of violent catharsis...

Sea Change by Beck. Maybe his best album.

Sun Apr 16, 2006 1:50 am

'Quadrephlex' by Kinesthesia...

Kinesthesia is actually Cylob for those who don't know... His Kinesthesia output is definately some of his best work, and some of the best stuff I've heard out of Rephlex!
