the new Noname tape is real good,
and I've also listened to Elucid's album from earlier this year.
It was great.

Just stumbled across Holy Fuck's new album from May this year. First listen was brilliant. Hadn't heard anything else from them in 11 years (missed the in between albums) - definitely recommend "Congrats"!

definitely their best since The Money Store, but I dunno if it's better than Money Store or Ex-Military

Anyone digging YG's Still Brazy?
I love "Don't Come to LA," "Who Shot Me?," "Word is Bond," "Gimmie Got Shot," "Bool, Balm & Bollective," "Still Brazy," "FDT," and "Police Get Away Wit Murder" ... definitely one of the best hiphop records of the year.

Those two albums are great but to be honest BP is blowing my mind into smithereens.

I thought Still Brazy was really fun, I listened to it while walking and felt like a badass, but it runs for about 50 minutes and doesn't really change up stylistically.
It doesn't get boring, but a few of the song do seem to blend into each other, especially in the back half.

It's pretty formulaic G-Funk start to finish, that's for sure ... at his best, he's an extremely entertaining storyteller.
At his worst, well, we have the track "She Wish She Was" which is garbage for a number of reasons.
Police Get Away Wit Murder is a nice surprise at the end ... the album is dwindling dwindling dwindling then BAM great song.
Also, while I'm posting here, I bought the new Tobacco album
Sweatbox Dynasty (which is up there on the "Album Titles Tobacco Would Definitely Use" list).
I dig Dimensional Hum and Warlock Mary, as well as the singles Human Om and Gods in Heat.
All in all it's a scattered release but I'm into it.

Can't believe I only discovered Inigo Kennedy a couple of months ago with the release of this track, even though he's been making techno and electronica for 20 years! This is so good, just as if early BOC and Biosphere had teamed up to make a 'dance' tune

So far:
1. Deakin-Sleep Cycle
2. Chance the Rapper-Coloring Book
3. Frank Ocean- Blonde
4. Animal Collective Painting With
I'm sure I'm missing some, even from my own favorites. I'm tired.

Deakin's album has really grown on me this year,
I thought it was great on first listen, but I've returned to it so freaking hard. Good House is by far the best song of the year, if not one of the best songs of the last five years.
Speaking of growers, Kevin Morby's Singing Saw was at a "eh, this is pretty good" for about 3 months, but in the past month I've completely fallen in love. It might usurp Deerhoof as my favourite record of the year.

I'm really glad Pritchard's going back to that kind of territory he was in in the Global Communication / Reload days. He made some amazing stuff back then, before he went into more mainstream dance stuff. Guy's a legend and that later stuff clearly got him a ton of acclaim, but I never did latch onto it like his earlier stuff.
