As much acclaim Disintegration gets, Faith is such a finely made album. If Seventeen Seconds and Pornography are representative of angst and self destructiveness respectively, then Faith is depression from beginning to end. The Drowning Man always gets me and Faith is easily the most powerful album closer of theirs. Bands that hit those lows tend to either make their best or worst at that time with no in between it seems.Orbited insanitarium wrote:rodox_head wrote:

Great choice.
I was thinking today about my cd version of Faith, which has Carnage Visors and a second disc of singles, b-sides, demo's, bonus bumf etc from 1980 to 1981. Made me wonder why re-releases come with all that excess.
In the liner notes though, I read about the state of the band and all those infamously turbulent sessions. Ones full of Class A use and heavy boozing (Smith's declining mental health of course.)
Through all of that, they still produced this masterpiece, what a record eh?
