Have you ever heard Wall of Voodoo's stuff? That song by The The kinda reminded me of something off their post-Ridgeway era albums.
I've definitely heard of them, I think I came across some albums while browsing rate your music, I even remember the name from one of my charity shop CD hunts.
wish I’d bought it now!
Will dig into their discography and explore further. Thanks!

Wet Leg - Wet Dream
It's silly, it's fun, it's oddly sexy in a not very sexy at all way, it's under three minutes, has disco hand-claps and is probably the best single I've heard this year.
Like a missing link between Elastica and the Breeders.
3,2,1.... let's begin...

My Bloody Valentine - Who Sees You
Weirdly enough, the closest band to Boards of Canada in sound that isn't a total BoC soundalike

Well if you end up liking their stuff, then a highly recommended follow up would be Plan 9 From Outer Space by Department of Crooks, the only album made from a later project featuring the guitarist of WoV.
Now playing: King Size by Caater
Hard trance act from Estonia, even though Wikipedia only erroneously labels them as "eurodance".

John grant - snug slacks (synth-pop)I love the vocal and lyrical delivery on this one, so suave & raunchy. (Reminds me a bit of grace jones)
Plus the production is immaculate!
Also rodox, cheers for the wall of voodoo guitarist side project recommendation. liking WoV's stuff already!

Is it weird for me to say that Killing Joke's "Night Time" album always reminds me of BoC a little? Something about Geordie's grainy guitar and Jaz's melancholic synth work...

Swiss electronic duo yello, with tiger dust (a track off their 2003 album "the eye")
These guys know how to mix good techno!

Sadly Hayling seems to be their only good song, I just never could care for the rest of their music.

I know I've mentioned them before, but I've been heavily binging the most recent/final album by Sewerslvt for the past week. It's like listening to Disintegration for the first time again but if it were made of harsh noise and amen breaks. It coincides with my current anxieties too which is cathartic.

I bookmarked them a long time ago and never followed up, will have to give them a listen. I've only heard Glitterball.

Beautiful song.
Caró - cat's pyjamas
Caró are a band which mix satirical lyrics and great instrumentation, this came out last year and got played quite a bit on BBC Radio 6music.
Fifth track from their debut burrows, i can’t recommend them enough!

I hate that their B-sides never got any sort of re-release. Marc Moreland's guitar work stands out as always.

"There'll be a varying amount of cloud and an area of high pressure over northern parts of the country this weekend"But don’t take my word for it. Ask the weatherman, who'll be spittin' out some guttural poetry on this wednesday night!
Tom Waits - emotional weather report
"That wraps up the weather for this evening. Now back to the eleven o'clock blues.
