A few days back i found a 7-inch single in a charity shop, it had a vibrant cover and was under a record label i'd heard of called 88' acid revival productions so being an acid-house fan i was intrigued!
When i put it on my turntable later the music instantly blew me away, researching further i discovered that these artists were quite prominent in the early 90s acid-techno breakbeat scene.

This is some seriously good rave music! :D

Just listened to Riki's "Gold" album. It's a nice New Romantic throwback with airs of stuff like early Depeche Mode and Strawberry Switchblade.

Hot off the press too! Always good to hear artists that don’t get a lot of attention. :D

Speaking of which, this one is quite hard to identify musically, I reckon you could call it chamber jazz art-rock.
This band are utterly fantastic, but frustratingly the album this song's on is so obscure that there’s only 2 tracks available from it on YouTube and bandcamp.
"The fine art of hanging on" is the album name if anyone’s interested.

Get ready for my ideal representation of aural bliss! :P

I think you're on the right track there.

Listening to this artist is somewhat surreal since, due to a sparse output and near nonexistent social media presence, it feels like she doesn't even exist sometimes. I think BoC has a larger presence :?

Listening to Soichi Terada's "Acid Face". Can anyone help me figure out a correct term for this style of music? It's like if Acid, Techno, Jungle, and Happy Hardcore were put into a blender.

Ry Cooder - one cat, one vote, one beer
phpBB [media]

While Ry Cooder was going through a political stage of his songwriting, he put out a concept album that has a very original story. It’s about a red cat called 'Buddy' who travelled the U.S through the winter with his pals 'Lefty Mouse' & 'Reverend Tom Toad'
There’s a lot of social commentary throughout in the lyrics and themes presented in the album and it's quite dense storytelling at times.

At this part in the story, the main characters are in a bar watching the general election unfold. Buddy reminisces when earlier that day he had his vote refused, while in the present he sits by the bar, watches the TV and orders a few more drinks.
The whole album took me a few listens to grasp but tonight this song in particular stuck out.
(also Jon Hassell plays the trumpet!)

Perhaps my favourite F-lips instrumental. The Soft Bulletin is so full of different sounds, i'm always drifting between tracks on it for my favourite.

How can an simple synth and piano melody be so affecting?

mdg, if you're reading this, Mike and Marcus might actually like this. Seems like some of the stuff they listen too and the stuff they make.

The Orb - Into The Forth Dimension (Essenes In Starlight) (Peel Sessions)
phpBB [media]

This perfectly sums up what I love about the early days of The Orb for me. Slick production, layered samples and sounds, a sense of psychedelic spirituality all bound up to create this other-worldly type material.

If there's a piece from their catalog that emotionally resonates with me it’s this one track, the string sample starting at 03.50s proves that this is no longer music. But beyond anything I’ve heard.
Extraordinarily emotive.

Never heard music like this before!

I’ve been listening to a lot of 60's pop recently and these are the ideal sounds for my playlist at the moment.
It's a sort of amalgamation between 1960's Psych/Sunshine Pop and shoegaze, I already knew this band received more attention after being part of the soundtrack for a TV thriller called Killing Eve (Which is great!)
But to say that David Holmes' Unloved are an interesting project is an understatement. :D

If you like the sounds of 60's singer/songwriter pop then I'd recommend checking out their debut 'Guilty of Love'

I'm convinced this was one of the earliest instances of Vaporwave in internet culture, as its usage actually predates 2010, and thusly predates Eccojams Vol. 1, Far Side Virtual, and Floral Shoppe. It may not be the first, but I like to think it counts for something.
