I cant afford it at all but, hey, life is not a dress rehearsal right? ;-)

The only band I'd make more effort to see are BOC.

I'd appreciate any cheap hotel advice too, currently looking at around £100 for somewhere near and half decent.

Also noticed there's a dedicated Belgian beerhaus called 'The Dovetail' just 5 mins from The Barbican...

That's one of the guys from Labradford I believe. There were a couple of photo with them and this monster modular synth they're using in the live shows.

I've got this playing on the big tv. The visuals make this amazing.

The Black Dog are hosting a 1 hour SOTL mixtape. Not listened yet, but guessing this could be a nice way to introduce yourself to the band if you've not yet taken the plunge. Get on it.

I finally listened to Tired Sounds a few months ago and I think it's become my all time favorite ambient record, if not tied with Tim Hecker's Harmony in Ultraviolet.

Hey Guys. Bit of a weird post coming up but hey ho.

I have a ticket to sell for the Glasgow date at Oran Mor on Thursday 6th October. The face price is £20, I'm looking to recoup whatever I can. It's currently on Ebay for £18 and open to offers. I'm not able to make the gig as I have left my home in Edinurgh and am the proceess of returning to Bristol. My 6 year relationship has failed, or rather my girlfriend has - I made terrible discoveries a few weeks ago that she has been living a double life for over a year and a half. It's been a deeply distressing time. And I know this isn't really the right thread fot this. But I am currently homeless, jobless and heartbroken.

I'm currently with my mother in the Lake District as I look to secure accommodation in Briz. Yesterday I borrowed her car and drove out to Ullswater, I put on '...And their Refinement of the Decline'. LOUD. As loud as the speakers could bear. I love this band so much. The music moves me and chimes with my inner self so powerfully, like hardly any other, perhaps only Low. Tippy's Demise was a revelation, once again. It was like a cool balm on my troubled mind. Reaching and comforting a place only music can reach. It was fleeting, but I know better times lie ahead. It's extremely tough right now. Forward steps, backwards steps, side steps. I'm reeling, punchdrunk.

However. A positive. I can now most definately make the Barbican show. My train is booked, my hotel is booked (thanks Mexi) and goddamit I am going to do all I can to be there. I have waited a year for this gig. I believe I will be in a better place when it comes around. I hope a few of us can meet up before, or after, or both. And have a pint in the sun. I'm looking forward to it.

x
