Was going to go for one of the posters, no way I could have got it home in one piece, though. They ran out of large t shirts by the time I got there as well! Fantastic gig. Was the last tune Music for Twin Peaks or am I being a bit stupid?

The poster is £20 for anyone wanting one. SOTL were incredible, but you knew that already ;-)

Set list (I think)

New song (Generous Abandon? Sounded different though)
Requiem For Dying Mothers 1&2
I Will Surround You
December Hunting For Vegetarian Fuckface
Mullholland
Music For Twin Peaks Episode #30

I may have missed one?

Great show. Seemed a little more erm, 'restrained' perhaps from the last time I saw them? Maybe due to the venue... I'll see what they're like tonight in Bristol .

Bagged a t-shirt and a poster, which I'll be off to get framed straight from the train. Good times.

Are you offering a poster for sale? I'll go for it if it hasn't been taken. I've sent a PM.

Sorry, I didn't word that very well. I'm not selling one. Just telling others the price at the merch stand as there was nothing explaining the price anywhere. They really do look lush.

A suitable sly glance from Mr McBride there. Nice one!

Met Adam before, but not Brian. Was that at the mercy stand?

I popped outside for a smoke just before the show was about to start and saw him there. I thought he was in deep conversation with friends but I realised they were talking about Game of Thrones, so took myself over. I asked him about new solo stuff he might release and remembered the gig at St.John of Hackney 5 years ago, a cold cold evening. He talked about new SoTL stuff, nothing exclusive, just its in the works as we already know. But he did say he was sitting on a pile of solo work and should get something released. He's been working on some film scores he said, alongside his teaching. A nice easy chat with a decent fella.

Great night last night. Was right down the front and could have reached out and touched Adam. In fact, I could smell his whisky as he was having a surreptitious sup every now and again (I couldn't decide whether it was bourbon or nasty Southern Comfort, hopefully the former).

Fantastic sound, though it was odd to be standing. Afterwards I nabbed a poster (although I do vastly prefer the 07 tour poster) and got Adam to sign it since he was serving behind the counter. Then when I left the venue I saw Brian having a fag with one of the violinists and Moog guys. I apologetically interrupted and asked if he had a pen so he could sign the poster too, but sadly not. An irritation, but I'm not the world's biggest collector these days, so no biggie. Would have been nice though.

Great gig.

Mr Wiltzie is a bit of a whiskey fan I believe, so I cant believe that would have been Southern Comfort, despite his motto fitting nicely with theirs ;-)

There was in London but not in Bristol. Stage times were similar though 8.20/8.30. I'd check with the venue.

'What stops you from finishing the new album?

AW: Nothing stops. I think it’s more like a problem with the world. The world thinks that as an artist you have to follow this pattern – musicians record, and they go tour, then they go back record, they go tour… For me, I like to do different things. 2007 was the year we put out our last record. Sure, that was nearly ten years ago. But I’ve been doing other things; it’s not that I didn’t want to do any record – it’s just that I felt doing something different. For me, just doing something because it’s popular is not really a reason to do something. You need to be inspired, you need to feel it’s fresh. That’s why getting this Moog and bringing it to the palette of Stars Of The Lid is an appealing thing. Maybe this will inspire us to push on and finish the record. But you know – we’re still together, we’re still productive, we’re still working on music. Just recording a record to record is not really a reason to record for me. And you have to have a reason behind it. You just make art, because you feel like it. I never wanted it to be like a job.'

'You know, the world has an interesting way of feeling entitled for something. Just time passing is not a reason to just make a new record. There’s plenty of music in the world, don’t you think? Don’t you feel as if there’s a lot of music that’s released, so that’s not really very-very good? I wish more people would spend more time and think about what they’re doing. Even me – I’m releasing way too much music. Sometimes I think that I need to slow down even more.'
