Hooking up my sampler.

I need some help fellas, and you are my only hope 
I wanna hook up my sampler again, but allot of my cables and whatnot are still at my appartment.
Now I have 2 seperate sound-cards. One for the MIC and one for the OUT (and I want to keep it that way.)
I hooked up the OUTPUT from my sampler to the MIC-Input, and what I want now is that whatever goes in through the mic, goes out through the OUTPUT on the other soundcard.
Is this possible or do I really have to plug it in the same soundcard?
