I just got an email from the owner of the Dutch weblog Eclectro. He emailed me to notify me about the following competition.

Will you be the closing act of The Urban Explorers Festival?

Dutch Festival Urban Explorers has organised a competition in conjunction with Dutch weblog Eclectro to select their closing act for the largest venue of the festival on saturday May 30th 2009. Earlier that night Junior Boys, Max Tundra en The Subs will play the Bibelot venue. How to join the competition?

  • Record a set of max 30 minutes.
  • This should be representative for the show you ought to do if you win.
  • Write in maximal 5 sentences who you are, what you want to do, and why you think you are the best suitable candidate. You have to convince the readers and the jury of the competition. A videorecording of your performance will benefit you because it shows more of your skills as a closing act.
  • Be sure to make the set open to the general public via the means of Soundcloud (audio), Vimeo video) or Ustream (video).
  • Drop your entry (the URL with the set and your motivation) at the eclectro website before May 1st.

Apart from playing the festival at peaktime there will also be a compensation of € 100,-

Fun fact: This invitation is a result of One on Twoism :)

Umm is this only open for Dutchies?

I guess the 100 euro prize wouldn't be extended to cover air travel, etc....?

It's open to everyone and the 100 euro can't be extended. The prize is the show and the € 100,- is just some compensation... that's why I entitled this topic as "in & around Holland". If you are from another country the compensation of € 100,- won't cover the expenses at all. Perhaps one can combine it with a trip?
