kind of like this idea. :)

I wrote a whole paragraph explaining why it's a good idea, but I refrained from posting it. Let me just say one thing, everything is connected, and inspiration is often drawn visually.

I like that too :O

I mean, think about what makes artist collectives so coherent. It's because they all draw from similar inspirations. They usually live near each other, experience the same kind of weather, culture, etc.

With internet collectives like ours, that's more difficult. So we have to create something to center us so that our output is more coherent. And what's better to do that than focusing on a few photographs, all of us, for inspiration. It's easier than all reading the same books or all living in one place or all watching David Lynch films. We could even create the album art first. Then we'd all draw inspiration from the album art itself, and create tracks we considered appropriate for the album. It's been done.

The less we try to imitate BOC, the more we become like BOC.

i think we should steer away from bocishness...we tried on this last one, but it still sounded bocishness to me. not saying that's a bad thing coz i LOVE the new comp.

I'm ready to make some music.

I think we should just all write our own music,
and if we have bocish styles because thats our inspiration, why bother trying to deny that?

OK now having been a member of this forum for aaaaaages I have always felt a slight outsider in the fact that I dont make music. Well not in the way a lot of you do. I am a musician, and have been singing for yeeeeeears, performing with many people, and currently with Liverpool's sense of sound choir. You Tube us for stuff we do. Anyway I also play loads of instruments my fave being violin and percussion.

Anyway basically I would love more than anything to be a part of one of the one on twoism complilations.

Maybe someone could use my voice?? I have access to other vocalists and recording equipment but anyway if anyone fancies a bit of a voice for something let me know, if not i will just sit back and enjoy the wonderful sound you talented people produce

a lot of bedroom artists want to work with vocals, but they have one problem - they can't find any vocalists to work with. and i'd love to work with vocals if i had any. i would like to try, SallyBear [:

Well I work every week with a really talented bunch of about 30 vocalists ranging from Baritone right through to soprano. And my voice sits in the tenor region. Quite deep and soulful but also with the low to mid alto capabilities. Anyway I will get some stuff together and get something for people to hear.

But seriously if anyone ever wants something specific Im sure I can find someone suitable

I am extremely enthusiastic about the idea of doing a comp that steers away from boccishness as much as possible. It would be amazing to make the range of subgenres and styles way more diverse. That's got my vote.

I totally second soulsonic's post.

If others are interested too, maybe you can create a topic seperately from the OOT3 compilation and post some recordings of your vocals and invite musicians to make a song using it. I can't promise I can make a tune out of it since my inspiration is currently scarce but I would love to give it a shot.

I'd love to work with a female vocalist someday, my dream is to produce some skeezy, gooey, crunchy, groovin', bangin', slowed down, chilled out, 70's throwback porno disco. you can only really do that with a great female voice.

I've been doing some work with a female vocalist. We recently took a track of mine into a guy's studio up in Portland OR and put some vocals over it.

The song is called Moonlight On My Tears. It sounds like some gothic movie theme or something. If it were 1985, I might be rich right now.

Thanks for the positive comments.

As I don't yet have anything of my voice on it's own, here is a link to some stuff we have done as a group:
