i was sceptical of the existence of chemtrails as an environmental modifier. after viewing the 'why in the world are they spraying?' documentary in its entirety, i no longer believe that chemtrails are merely engine exhaust from airplanes.

everything else that i feel about corporate geoengineering is beyond rational thought at the moment. a part of me would like to invest in a high powered pair of binoculars or a telescope, in order to observe details about the aircraft in my local area.

Seems like they debunk a few subjects which were in the documentary. I'm not convinced wheter it happens or not.

I haven't watched that one (and it's late, so...) but a quick search to see if anyone has a take on it pulls up this site https://www.metabunk.org/threads/geoeng ... tion.3178/ which suggests that it starts with identifying some "problem" contrails which are, in fact, explainable, and provides links. Not saying you should take one forum posting as gospel of course, but it's a different expanation, and I think the chemtrail theorists are yet to prove (in an experimentally repeatable way) their point.

I don't post this to shit on people's theories, and stuff, I just think... between climate change, unchecked global capitalism and countries getting all land-grabby again we've got enough "collapse-drivers" going on amongst the things we can prove and do something meaningful about.

this lecture is absurd, if only because it's a collection of horribly alarmist and sensationalist images and catch phrases meant to scare and rouse you (and he even claims he's not trying to be alarmist!).

Dane (the lecturer) continuously refers to weather modification as weaponry, but more or less blindly throws "evidence" behind it. A great example is his "elephant in the room" document which, if you actually read it, is a very valid and un-evil proposal for continued scientific research into lightning suppression, hail suppression, and remote sensing of weather. Yes, the suppression aspects involve seeding clouds ("spraying"), but no one is hiding or denying that. Hell, it's even listed on the silver iodide wiki page.

Then he has the gall to claim that "weather warfare" is being used against the Africans?! The first publication I came across in a quick google search about the history of rainfall in Africa documents a series of severe droughts throughout the 19th century, followed by comparatively wet weather throughout the 20th century. Weather is fickle, and trying to correlate recent weather patterns with poorly-documented chemical spraying is entirely unproductive.

I actually don't doubt that chemtrails exist, and they're probably chock full of things we shouldn't be breathing, but these nut jobs trying to claim it's advanced weaponry or the cause of wildfires and floods and plagues of locusts are really annoying. Disney World probably puts as many nasty inorganics and heavy metals in the air with their nightly fireworks displays as these trails do.

I mean, it'd be good in a way if they were researching this stuff because concensus on climate change is that we've passed or are passing the point of no return and we need to research some kind of mitigation strategies if we want to keep the planet livable. I think most of us here are Northern Europe, yeah? The prognosis for us isn't so great.

This is a nice little primer on laser use. This short piece in Optics Letters demonstrates condensation and snow formation on a smaller scale (in a cloud chamber). I haven't found much on large-scale implementation, but I also didn't look particularly hard...

If you come across any papers from closed-access journals that you'd like to read and don't have access to, I can likely get it through work (I work at a large university); let me know and i'd be happy to look!

@Robin - agreed; like I said, I actually don't doubt that chemtrails exist, but I firmly believe that it's much too early for such a technique to be "weaponized," if it's even possible to effectively do so.

Ok, I'm convinced geoengineering takes place, though I'm not sure on what scale.

This article is backed up by a video of a recent senate hearing where David Walker says:

this is "not an area that we have any need for in the future" and it would not be a good use of Air Force research funds to keep HAARP going. "We're moving on to other ways of managing the ionosphere, which the HAARP was really designed to do," he said. "To inject energy into the ionosphere to be able to actually control it. But that work has been completed."

I also stumbled upon a public speech by an aerospace worker at a demonstration in Dresden on May 12, 2014 where he tells the audience thay he participated in installing chemtrails devices on airplanes. In this speech he is talking about evidence which is to be found here (scroll down).
