Sweet cat, russian blue?
The cat hogging the show in my records pic is Bing, he is a russian blue. I had two grey guys that looked the same, but were different breads. One passed away last year. He was a korat and made it to 24!
When I said very rare, I just meant one of a kind :) He's kind of a dork.

Image
Kit E. Kat (Kit Edward Kat) age 24. This pic was taken a week before he passed on. AWESOME cat.

And the other two. Bing, grey(the photo-hoe) and Marcel, white with stripes.

24  Thats a long time mate! I'm sorry that he died man :(

Sorry to hear about your cat passing, but wow! 24! What a great long life for him! My cat KIKI passed away at 16. He was a great cat.

My Mom has a Russian Blue too.

I splitted this topic as deserves one of its own!

Wow! 25 years.. I knew cats could be old.. but 25!? Must've been hard although you kind of expected to lose him like 10 years years ago, I guess.
Mine is 14 now and I bear in mind that he can pass away anytime now as the average age is 15? I really do hope he at least will be around for another couple of years. Will post some pics of mine too soon.

what is this, Caturday?

Wed Sep 02, 2009 2:04 pm

Every day is Caturday! Did you not get the memo?

Got just the one here, Frankie. Half-feral and only 7. Utterly devoted to us. Completely black and almost impossible to photograph unfortunately.[/img]

my cat:

Percy in his favorite spot - inside the sink. He loves tapwater and will beg and yowl for it no matter how fresh the water in his bowl is. But if you don't watch it, he'll drink too much and throw up.

He's 13 years old now and getting to be an old kitty, but he's still as affectionate and sweet as the day i picked him up in one hand at the breeder's.

And here is Max, technically my brother's cat, but he lives at home with my parents and me:

This is Senna:
3 years old. She really is the smallest cat I have ever seen in my life. She still looks like a kitten. She's a bit shy towards unfamiliar people, but that's what I like about her, because that makes me feel special 8). I taught here to bring back a paper ball when I throw it away. I love that, even though it's a dog thing to do :).

This is Jefta:
A tough male cat, brother of Senna, also 3 years old. He's the quiet one of the 2. Makes long walks, crosses busy streets, shits in molehills, and brings us home dead mice and frogs. He loves to cuddle, and is a gratefull cat.

Isn't it strange how much you can get attatched to those little creatures?

tell me about it! for the past year or so i've been realizing that Percy is getting old and probably doesn't have many more years to live, and i've been stressing out worrying about how i'll cope with it when he dies, especially since he will probably have to get put to sleep if he catches some terminal illness, and since i'd like to be holding him when he does. Ugh. i just try to love him as much as possible while he's still around.

Yeah mate, that thought alone gives me goosebumps.. I cannot imagine to live without my cats now. I even get stressed out when Jefta is away for a day or two. Affraid that he got hurt or worse.. So what will happen to me when one of them actually dies. Pfff, heavy stuff.
Does this make me a wimp?

They'd eat you if they could. Just a thought...

Wed Sep 02, 2009 9:41 pm

I miss having cats, had many of the years but they've all died. The oldest cat i ever had, was 23, she was called Susie, died when i was about 8-9 years old, i remember she liked eating crisps. Two other cats i had died in 2005, one of them was called Rico, he liked licking toothpaste of my fingers, the other one was completely deaf, she was called Milly and died quite young (7-8 years of age) poor thing :( and Libby, who died of old age, she was 17 and died in 2007.

I had a black cat called Polly, but she went on to live with a family who lived next door but one, she remembered me (i think) she'd always come to me, i'd stroke her and she died not so long ago, again of old age.

Deffo wanna get some more cats in the future.
