Brain sideplot, I like the sound of that.

Mine comes from this not super exciting interlude by American prog-metal band Queensrÿche. I was 14 and heavily into prog rock when I first started using that username (not on this forum).
I never really liked that band, I just wanted a username with a number on it and this song was prob playing on my headphones.
Edit: *I wanted a song with a number as a username* (for some reason)

It means from the north of Saturn, duh. There's a hexagon there, somehow
I should've checked the members list before choosing this name, there's a lot of users with the word north in theirs. And there's even a guy with almost the same avatar as me
yes, i would love to be free!

I was looking for a totally unique pseudonym/artist name to protect my mum and dad from my online stupidity, tried a few different ones, Wayne Shawley (my old dj name) etc and couldnt find evidence of anyone else called Elwyn Hayseed so went with it, makes it easier for finding old posts even if poor for online privacy.

I think I've shared this origin story somewhere before, but whatever...

Ironically I came up with this username on the SilentHillCommunity forum. It was a term I used to describe myself as someone whose mental wiring ended up faulty and abstract over the years, exacerbated by exposure to the less than savory parts of the internet and possibly undiagnosed aspergers. the word rodox sounded cool and had the connotations of something "messed up" or "not quite right". The underscore was added just as a throwback to older usernames, but thankfully I added it because I didn't think about the other meaning of the word "head" when I came up with it

It also became the name of a band I made up.

I wish I hadn't added the "insanitarium" part of my name, it's a tad pretentious, and round this part of town I'm just called Orbited anyways!

I already made a thread before I was enlightened of this one, so I'll just copy-paste what I said there. Love you Twoism but damn this site for not letting me delete or edit some things. I'm sorry for attempting to steal your thunder Goiter.

Both my parents had LiveJournals back in the day, my username is just theirs combined. My Mom went by 'steelcrystal' and my Dad had the username 'shadowdancer-x'. Not sure where my Mom's was from but my Dad's was from the Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi Genesis game. My Dad passed away in March 2002, so I never got to meet him. His and my Mom's LJ are the only windows of him I have.

Steeldancer had a good ring to it. Seemed less cringe than Shadowcrystal lol. The '-x' is just a nod to how everyone used to style their names back then.
