I don't even have the money yet btw, I'm still trying to convince my parents that if I don't fail any subjects at school, they let me buy them (problems and advantages of still being in school :D) So yeah, the Stax just looked so good becouse they are electrostatic and not as expensive as the SR407 or the SR007 MKII, (and it was either that or a Thrustmaster Warthog anyway), but I'm more declined into listening to my music with quality. I'll just try to negotiate the price with the seller if he doesn't sell it in a day or two that are left

Btw, thanks for the info on the ATHM50s, I'll have a look at them, I've also seen that the BeyerDynamic DT 880s and the ATH AD900 are relly good for electronic music and such, a bit pricey though

"I'm more declined into listening to my music with quality." Of course!

Beyerdynamic are pretty well regarded as far as I can remember. The headfi forums are a good resource by the way, and whathifi articles tend to be alright (though they are prone to using bullshit 'audiophile' terms on occasion) :}

Yes, I've been looking at some reviews on HeadFi, but didn't know of whathifi, I'll give it a look!

if you're looking for awesome sounding cans, go for GRADO. so good!
sr-80s you get a LOT of bang for your buck.
but if you wanna dive in and get THE sound, get the rs-1's or go all the way and get the ps-1000's.
add a headphone tube amp, and you are immersing yourself in aural bliss.

i had a pair of rs-1's and p-1000's, with a schitt valhalla amp. it is WELL worth the buckers.
the rs-1's punch the bass a little more, while the ps-1000 offer s true reference sound stage. your ears will trip out.

go try them if you can.

Nice SH-101.

On-topic, my record player is very old, and a hand-me-down. The old needle was bad, so I got one from a local record store and it works wonderfully. My turntable (1989), receiver (1989), and speakers (1969) are all very old, so they give off a nice vintage sound flavor.

Recently dug this out of storage. I'm not sure if it even works. I don't have a receiver and my wired speakers have been in mom's basement for ages. I'd like to get it set up. We'll see.

I can't DJ on vinyl so I'm not very demanding. I'm fine with my AT-LP70X.
