Good lord. Earlier in planning this trip Cupz wanted me to drive (because he doesn't have a license, but I didn't assume they would honor mine anyways). I absolutely hate driving. Every time I get into the driver's seat of a car I swear I'm going to hit somebody or something. I can't believe I've never been pulled over either because I've broken a whole bunch of traffic laws (the inverse of my speeding friends - I go too slow/wait too long and get honked at). It's not the left side drive though that would bother me driving us around though, but that I can barely drive here let alone a country with different road laws even if the majority of the signs are pretty universal.

I still for whatever reason told myself "if I have to drive and can, I'll do it". Then I saw a picture of the M6. I thought the almost totally straight I10 from this state to California was bad enough. No way in hell I'm tackling that. I really don't ever want to drive anything again, I'm not sure how people manage to do that and simultaneously be "texting" and listening to music.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

Its fine if you're not coming off at it. Its not bad if you are tbh. Now, 20 mile stretches of average speed cameras they wear on you :)

2 questions:

How are the majority of people getting up to knoydart for the Scottish leg. Are people meeting in Glasgow on the Friday? I've just got a car and am toying on taking that up - I may have space. I stay in Edinburgh.

And for winspit - would anyone have a lift from Bournemouth for 2 people?

I'd be more afraid of those weird fucking roundabouts.

Be afraid. Very afraid. And don't go to Swindon.

Ha ha! My old mum in law used to live 5mins walk from the Magic Roundabout in Swindon. Proof positive that acid and town planning should never mix.

Welp, Cupz and I also staying in Edinburgh are taking a bus if we can't get a ride from someone with a van or a truck making the trip. Worst case scenario, hitchhiking expedition. I'm also not sure about exactly where everyone's meeting up there either. I'll have to look over Techboy's thread again.

I could potentially pick two people up from Bournemouth on the Saturday. Will know for sure closer to the time.

1. A few people are meeting in Glasgow on the Friday, you're welcome to join for a beer even if you then get the train home and take the car the next day.

2. How are you getting to Bournemouth? I haven't booked anything yet, oops.

If I'm speaking, who is that? That's not at all a likeness of me.

I actually had the idea of bringing a camera to film a sort of documentary about two fans leaving their homelands under the guise of documenting this trip and then having us both possessed in winspit by some entity that takes us to the pentland hills under a red moon where we're killed off Blair Witch style by a bunch of creepy faceless children. Our bodies appear as a warning at Knoydart.

The budget would be too high, so fuck it. Too much post.

The photo he's seen of me was probably cropped and old, given that it must have been one I used on Skype (because he doesn't use Facebook).

We actually look a bit eerily similar. I mean that in an "unkempt" (yet clean) way, not facially.

His hair is its own ecosystem though, I am convinced. There's arcologies and space programs down in there. That's where his inner flamingo lives.

Haha. You mention unkempt, my issue is that if I'm not working (been off long term sick), I shave only when I am forced to. So I can grow a fairly full beard in a couple of months, be forced to shave it, then be lazy again and the cycle continues.

This aesthetic has had... mixed reviews from friends and loved ones...
