A new flat!

Holy hell, it was stressful and will be expensive but this is the "forever" family home.

3 beds, big garden, perfect area in Edinburgh for amenities & schools (The Grange, for those who know), room to extend, period features. It needs a shitload of work, but I can't wait to get my hands dirty & get grafting on it! :D

Just bought this -

https://www.wearedorothy.com/shop/lost- ... ylingdales

I can remember passing these as a kid on holiday in Yorkshire and they stuck in my mind, also like the style of the painting and the hauntology vibe.
Not the reason I bought it, but it's quite BOCish, with the whole hauntology/conspiracy theory thing.

I *love* that!

I was always a bit obsessed with Fylingdales as a kid too - used to drive past it on the way to Scarborough for holidays.

I love that old railway-poster type print too - there's an artist called Peter McDermott who does them for scenes around Scotland. His one of the Forth Rail Bridge might well find itself in our new pad.

That style was one of the main attractions for me. An artist, Norman Wilkinson, did them here in Northern Ireland in the same style, this one take up most of one of our dining room walls and it looks great -

The Art of Computer Programming by Donald Knuth arrived today from The Amazon. Supposedly the bible on Computer Science (or at least programming at large). Can't wait for months from now when I'll actually have time to read it..

The colour edition of Mark Z Danliewski's "House of Leaves", which I've been waiting to read until I could get my hands on that version of it.
