ron paul is the best candidate because he is probably the least corrupt of them all, but you guys have to realize.. it's not your/our choice as to who becomes one of the two candidates.

you may think "we vote for who we want", but in the end.. it's who they want.

Good questions. By thinking for ourselves, making our own opinions and coming to our own conclusions. By not participating in a system that was never designed with our best intentions in mind to begin with.

It's not all negativity and I don't think they're going to kill us all. They need us. Without us they have no power. Without us there's nobody to play along.

Something occurred to me earlier today. I was listening to the radio and people were calling in with suggestions about how to get our elected leaders to fix the economic/ societal problems we face here in America. Then it hit me. What problems?! The people leading this nation and others are all doing just fucking peachy aren't they? They make all the rules, they don't have to obey a single one of them, they're set for life financially, anyone who questions them and their policies has their credibility ripped out from underneath them. You say there are problems out there? I gotta tell ya, they're probably not seeing it and not giving a damn one bit. It's sweet up at the top and you know it. The things we call problems I'm sure they LOVE having us come to them to help our poor, meek little souls. It's exactly what keeps them in power!

Let's be honest here. There is a disconnect. There always has been. Life up there is virtually nothing in relation to life down here. They do not see life the same way we do. So, why do we give a shit about who they choose for us to vote for? Why do we continually pander for them to save us when we should be trying to save ourselves?

There hasn't been a society in the past where there wasn't a handful of wealthy people with a considerable influence on the rest of the people. Even in communism the government was extremely rich while its people starved. Our country isn't perfect but I think we're much better off than other people in the world and what people have had to deal with in the past. Being wealthy does not automatically make you evil.

Our country isn't perfect but I think we're much better off than other people in the world and what people have had to deal with in the past. Being wealthy does not automatically make you evil.

Maybe we don't have to do anything. Voting between two candidates you know nothing about other than what you're told isn't the end all and the be all. Democracy certainly isn't that great if all the people are uneducated about what's going on in the world. It's like fiat currency. The more you print, the less value it retains. Democracy is no different. The more voices, especially when uneducated about global politics, cheapens the results.

Me, personally, and keep in mind, this is just me. I say the people who hold power built their houses of cards on foundations of sand. Their power is a complete illusion. It would be SO EASY to stop them, if you were so inclined. You don't need to protest, you don't need to be armed, and you don't even need to leave your home. Let's say everybody in America, for one day, stays home. Doesn't go to work, doesn't go to school or any other institution, doesn't spend money or use electronics, and instead stays home with their families and the people they love and enjoys their free time, which ironically is the exact thing we're all breaking our backs working for. If we did this, the entire infrastructure of America would collapse in less than a day. It's so easy to think you actually have to go do something. They make you think you do. But, the only way to really get at 'em is to do nothing at all. Once the money stops flowing, the heart of a country dies. Hell, give it two days and you can stop the entire world.

Now, of course, not everyone would want this, and I understand that. Some people are perfectly fine with what they get from mainstream media, going to the polls and voting, and that's fine too. But if they're gonna complain about why they're not getting results from the people they voted for, and remember, the choice was not theirs to begin with (a very important factor in understanding what is actually going on globally) then the only way they're going to understand what's really happening is to do their homework. Hearing more than one side to any given story. And no, I don't mean switching the channel between FOX and CNN. Remember, higher up they're owned and controlled by the same empire. Divide a country's opinions and you conquer it. So simple it's brilliant.

I agree. Being wealthy does not mean you're evil. It's using that wealth to keep yourself in power, horde resources, manipulate and obfuscate others to do your bidding that makes you a candidate for evil. It always helps to remember that the people who do this have a very different good/ evil spectrum. What we consider to be heinous crimes against humanity, they see is being for the greater good.

You're also right about society and societies past. History always repeats itself. This seems to be the inevitable cycle of empires. They start off all fresh and beautiful, but eventually turn sour and poisonous. America is no different. We're not immune and we're not special. I also agree that we have been well off for a long time and it's not all bad here. Either way, the inevitable outcome will be revolt and revolution, but it doesn't ever have to be bloody. Of course, whatever kind of society or governance that comes along next is anyone's guess. I have my theories...

By the way, I love talking this stuff with you guys! What do you all think we should do? Any theories?

I definitely agree with what you're saying. Nothing lasts forever, that's what makes life beautiful I think. Certainly a more efficient system better for the people will soon come.

Like mechanism said, it's how you have earned your wealth and what you do with it. I think that many people if wealthy would be selfish about it just like most of the rich are today. It's human nature. No matter what you do there's no way to get rid of the wealthy.

I think part of the problem is the population explosion. The systems we have in place aren't meant to support this many people. Things have to change eventually. Drastically, I think. We live in a country that is continuously outsourcing our manufacturing jobs to save a buck (spread democracy), all the while consuming more of the finite resources than any of the others. On the one hand, we've got it fucking made! On the other, I think we're gonna pay dearly in the future. Seriously. The American dream is not cheap.

Think about this. The population explosion is directly related to the use of a finite resource that we use quicker than we can pull out of the Earth. What's going to happen to all of these people when we run out? If you can see that clearly enough, you can understand why bills are being pushed through that suspend Habeas Corpus and Posse Comitatus, why we're bringing the troops back right now, and why there is speculation of camps being opened by KBR. Also, why the occupy movement is continuing to march on and change shape. It's all connected.

Well, I've got to freshen up on my geo-politics. I have a feeling America will still be around, only in a completely different role, with a completely different economy and government. We're marching toward it right now.

Also I think boycott can work better than a sleep-in. If 15% of people threatened to quit (and survive) their information carrier ISP or whomever else is raping the public rates would go down.

Walmarts are barely going anywhere. If you buy local that's a gas with the bonus byproduct that Boxes might provide higher quality for the same cost.

I've found that if I calibrate my brain to just the right frequency, I can get a good laugh out of all of them beating each other up over brand name consumer products at low low prices.

Perhaps in a couple years there will be a reality TV show dedicated to such nonsensory.
