Probably because it was released last autumn and if there's anyone who hasn't played it by now, they really don't care about it.

My thoughts exactly.

Its a game you will want to play knowing as little about it as possible. Needless to say it is very good.

Well, if we're going for obvious, here's some other indie gems to check out.

Cave Story++ (very solidly designed action-platformer)
Super Meat Boy (pixel perfect platforming)
Pony Island (Same rule as Undertale, don't check out what it is, just play it.)
Super Hot (an FPS where time only moves when you do. It's as awesome as that sounds.)
Faster Then Light (roguelike space-opera)
NEO Scavenger (best post-apocalypse wasteland survival game sinds fallout 2)
Candy Box 2 (play for free here) (same rule as undertale and pony island apply

Problem with most of these is that they feel a bit short, you'll get a good day or 2 out of them but then its over.

Warning : only play this if you're happy paying $25 for a 2-hour game.

Also, your list doesn't include Dustforce. I'm disappointed.

I forgot about it. I never really got the hang of the controls so didn't play much of it. I get the appeal.

You have to play it with a gamepad. The keyboard controls are about as good as the ones for Dark Souls, so I would strongly recommend not using them. But once you get it configured, it's one of the smoothest and most fluid games you'll ever play.

DOOOOOOOOOOOM.
And I got to lvl 40 in the Overwatch open beta.
I quit WoW months ago.
I overclocked my 6 year old i7 2600k CPU to 4.4GHz (had it running at 4.8GHz but I don't need it that high). It seems I don't need to overclock my GTX 970s for Doom. I have it at ultra settings, running at 60fps with vsync on and only a few drops here and there. Everythings running nice and cool with my overclocked CPU hitting max temps of 59 degrees Celcius and my GPU hitting 52 degrees Celcius. Once Doom starts using Vulkan code, I can use both of my 970s and utilize 8GB of VRAM (technically 7).

Fortunately a friend bought me Doom and another friend bought me Overwatch.

Add me on steam! My username is: Rahlorg

I really wanna play Uncharted 4, but alas, I have no money.

Wondering how I have a nice computer? I saved and saved and saved and saved and saved and then bought pieces over the years during sales, slowly adding and upgrading parts.

That was a disappointing game and there's no way it's worth the full price.

Oh I wouldn't know anything about price.

Mount and Blade: Warband
Fallout 4

Pretty much all I'm concerned with right now

Takin' a trip down memory lane with Pokémon Blue version :]

The nicknaming system is definitely more fun now that I can name my team members after new age sampler wizards such as Curly MC, or characters from Frasier. My girlfriend thinks I'm losing it.

I tried playing that on an emulator on my DS but found myself quickly not able to let go of the fast-forward button. Pokemon is one of those "you had to be there" kind of things. I wasn't there.

And lol @ curly mc, I know that some family members still fuck to Enigma. Completely ruined.

This is how I feel. A few years ago everybody started making Pokemon references all the time everywhere and it makes me feel alienated as someone who's never played them.

Haha yup, I'm mostly getting nostalgia value out of it at this point; I've logged about 7 hours in the last few days, and I'm unfortunately starting to get pretty bored because my team is capable of one-shotting every opponent--it's definitely a game made for kids. That being said, there's something so wonderfully mystical about the feeling they were able to create, but I guess that's the whole draw of all the early RPGs. I may have been around for Pokemon, but I'm envious of the Final Fantasy kids : )

In regards to your family members + enigma, that's gold--I can only imagine how many obscure scenarios his absurd sampler recordings have made themselves into, being thrust into a grey area somewhere between earnest, new-age spirituality and capitalist corporate BS. Why listen to vaporwave when you've got curly MC???

Now that's something I did get to experience. Fortunately I was at the proper age when the remaster of FF1 came out and it's given me hours of very pleasant memories. It's amazing how awful to no graphics can inspire so much imagination. I guess that's the point of reading literature, though.

Earthbound is another one of my favorite games that I've never really played; after spending many summer nights at my friend Zak's house watching him play through and trading the controller a few times, I find it pretty near and dear to my heart. Giygas has got to be one of the most incredible and existential boss battles of all time. Earthbound really knows how to balance emotion and humor in a way that enhances its realism and youthful vitality!

@drillkicker: I'm wary of the same 'you had to be there' effect with FF that some face with Pokémon--part of me is fearful that I'm too jaded to enjoy a fresh experience of Final Fantasy, and I don't want to tarnish the mythical status I hold for it in my mind. Perhaps I'll give it a go one day, for now my memories of my pal Logan doing the jecht shot are good enough for me : )

Have you given FF1 a try ? I felt that way about the original Legend of Zelda before I really started playing it, but I found that it actually pulled me in very well and almost made me feel like a child again, playing a primitive game and imagining what it would look like in real life. It gave me nostalgia for things I never experienced, since it's similar to games I did play as a child. The same might happen to you with Final Fantasy.
