Isn't funny how everyone went back?
Isn't it funny how no one seemed to care in a matter of years?
Isn't it funny just how right some of you are?
Just how wrong too?

It's funny how antiquated this flash animation, when it was posted, makes the whole thing look. The whole "Oh, YES, I CAN escape [the botnet/whatever] and I'll do it just fine!" mentality that doesn't really exist and the coming equally disturbing complacent can't-beat-join mentality that leaves me with little to say that hasn't.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

If anyone wants to make a switch, Mastodon looks good, cute and easy enough to persuade your mum in joining (cause that's what this is all about, isn't it?)

I'd start an ambient/eccentric-music instance if I knew some (at least 2 other) peeps were interested and help them ditch facebook. @yourname@iwanttosuckmikeandmarcussdick.com anyone? This way you could still get your social media fix.

I quit Facebook in any serious capacity for its purpose a long time ago. I take breaks from social media in general now.

It's yielded nothing but drama.

That plus it keeps you from seeing the bigger picture.

Been off the facehole for a couple years now. Once you drop it you really don't think about it. On exceedingly rare occasions something of interest will pop up in regards to music or other entertainment that you cannot find elsewhere, but it is easy to get the information without even having an account... I suppose that should tell you something right there.

I deleted my friends list, all pictures, all events etc etc and am just an entirely blank page with a picture and a very general location used only as a replacement for MSN Messenger, really. I would find another messaging service, but I would have to convince everyone else to sign up too which would be rather a daunting task to undertake.

My first mobile was a 3310. One charge lasted a week and you were given 15 texts a month or something.

And I begrudgingly upgraded to this phone a few years ago because my service provider stopped supporting the network my old brick worked on. I had that phone for several years. Precious memories.

Anyway, facebook! What's the count up to now? 87 million exposed users?

Oh strange, I haven't either but I'm allowed to read it. Doesn't matter, its basically reporting people having more trouble trying to delete their facebook pages. (passwords working up until you need it for deletion)

Not strictly 'on topic' but this takes things to another level of 'Holy shit, 1984 was tame'. Facebook doesn't scare. But this does...
