how do people have time to watch all of these

the only tv series i have watched in their entirety are breaking bad, arrested development, twin peaks, and important things with demetri martin.

I only really watch The Simpsons and Seinfeld.

when it comes to overarching series I just don't think I have the patience for it.

Any of you guys ever watch "The Prisoner"?

Not the remake. It sucked. The original.

Super good, and full of creeping paranoia that just builds and builds and builds and builds, and doesn't stop.

Also, "Cosmos" was technically a TV show and if you haven't watched it I don't know what's wrong with you.

I'd say Salem's Lot - but I haven't seen it in thirty years. I think it is on youtube now.

Anyone who hasn't watched Band of Brothers should definitely do so.

It doesn't really qualify as a "series", but Jam is a must for BoC fans.

Best thing on TV - it is pretty much the only series I make a point of watching. The writing is fantastic, great performances, it LOOKS beautiful, the cultural references are spot on. It will make you want to drink whisky during the day, take up smoking and have sex with a secretary though.... Probably my favourite series ever

Just started watching it, nearly through the first season, incredibly good for all the reasons you have said, among my favourites already.

From a comedy point of view try these:
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
The Day Today
Brasseye
Look Around You
I'm Alan Partridge
Knowing Me, Knowing You
Summer Heights High
Angry Boys

The soundtrack is magnificent.. it's from Nujabes, one of the best Jazz Hop producers there was.

the phrase jazz hop makes me cringe but yes! SAMURAI CHAMPLOO is one of the greatest television series i've seen and i'm not a crazy anime head or anything. the show is of extremely high quality...the same director as Cowboy Bebop. the almost 100% Nujabes soundtrack seem almost too good to be true.

the office and arrested development make me laugh
i also like weeds... that last scene was great and both Justin Kirk and Mary Louise Parker are great actors.

I didn't see if anybody mentioned Archer, but if they didn't, they should have. Because things happen like Cyril getting brained by an eggplant.

There's way more to it than that, but it is a damn funny show.

I'd say The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams and Night Gallery. two quality programs.
as a kid in the 70s - one made me want to be a mountain man and the other just plain scared me but i loved it.

currently, of the 13(hundred)-channels-of-shit-on-the-TV-to-choose-from, i can only recommend Madmen. impeccable. *buy smokes and scotch - nearly impossible to watch it without.

Seen the twilight zone suggestions and was also about to put down Night Gallery. Rod Serling was a genius. I also fully recommend Band of Brothers, which was also suggested

I've been really in to "The Wire" lately. It's not a series I thought I would like, since I'm not very in to hip hop, gangsters, and all that but it's very exciting. It shows all sides of the the story, not angles it to either the criminals or the police advantage but just showing how life really are to the people in the city of Baltimore. It has that lovely mix of humour and brutality that I like.

if there's any series which can make you laugh as well as contemplating the fuck outta life, it's Louie.

Yes, watch Louie, it's fantastic.

I'll also recommend Accused.
