Sl Flk wrote:And The Children Shall Lead

The federation starship Enterprise arrives at the planet Triacus. Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy, and First Officer Spock beam down in time to witness the death of Professor Starnes, the leader of a scientific expedition team. The other members of the expedition, apart from their five seemingly unconcerned children, seem to have died at their own hands.

The crew bring the children back to the Enterprise, where McCoy evaluates them and determines that they are suffering from lacunar amnesia, unaware of what happened to their parents and unable to grieve. However, when left unattended in one of the ship's rooms, the children chant an evocation and summon a glowing humanoid named Gorgan. He advises them to take control of the crew in order to get to Marcus XII, his preferred destination. The eldest child, Tommy, uses mental powers Gorgan has bestowed on the children to trick the crew into steering the ship while presenting illusions that make them think they are still in orbit above Triacus.

Upon reviewing a troubling expedition film recorded by Starnes, Spock, McCoy, and Kirk return to the bridge to find the children and Gorgan fully in control of the crew. Unable to break their hold on the crew, Spock observes that the children are merely possessed by Gorgan, who must be the evil embodiment of an ancient group of space-warring marauders released by Starnes's archaeological survey.

Believing they can break the hold Gorgan has on the children, Spock plays back footage showing the children happy with their parents, who are then shown to be dead. As the children realize what has happened, they break down emotionally and Gorgan's appearance begins to deteriorate. With the children's powers gone, the crew regains control and Kirk orders a course for Starbase 4 while they take care to comfort the children.

A sound argument if ever there was one!

Raiders of the lost ark - The Lords vengeance.

I've been thinking about the end of this movie. It's one of my favourite films since childhood. Of course I don't have to go into details about the rise to power of the nazis. I am sure we're all quite aware of the fearful propaganda they used and how people were manipulated and brainwashed. The ending plays out in a biblical way. Good triumphs over evil and the evil is temporarily washed away.

"don't look at it Marion, close your eyes and don't look at it" is the advice Indiana gives to Marion. Indiana himself seems to be an enlightened personality and throughout the film he is often pictured in sunlight. However from the beginning of the film (if you don't know the story) we aren't really sure if he is a good guy? Often looking quite moody. But Belloch knows he is on the good side, their little chat in the cafe he talks about 'making him like me, to push him out of the light'. Indiana is on the fringes of all the nazi propaganda mayhem and for anyone to go against the cultural norm of the time would be quite difficult especially if you're in the fire. Quite difficult is an understatement of course. It can cost you and your families lives. So it makes me wonder if the don't look at it advice is to ignore the fear porn and not to go with the flow.

A similar thing happens in the Shining when Danny covers his eyes and Tony, his imaginary friend says "It's just pictures in a book Danny... It isn't real. Reading through a lot of the Shining analysis done by others, it seems quite plausible that The Shining is about genocide. How people are driven to kill their families. Or in the case of genocidal situations, there fellow man.

There's one more thing I've thought of too. The Aphex Twin Video for come to Daddy. There you have a metaphorical argument that it is a propaganda machine quite literally coming out of the TV and frightening the old people to death.

Come to think of it, both films were released within a year of one another. I know that in the 70's there was a huge revival in books and education of the nazis. Seems interesting that both Directors came up with a similar metaphor.

I get what you are trying to express by using these movies and tv shows, but I don't believe it proves anything. It's in the same ballpark as using religious texts as scientific proof of your worldview.

Not trying to proof or disprove anything. People think and that's all I am doing. Kubrick thought, Speilberg thought. I could be right, I could be wrong. It's all half chance. I'll let the historical landscape proof me wrong, and so shall you.

5G - the disinformation war to make any conspiracy look crazy. Same with 'flat earthers;

A friend of a friend (who i don't personally know) called me a flat Earther to said friend because I once spoke negatively about the vaccine. It is a perfect counter measure. However, it should be said that sometime in the future we will see a bottleneck event within our human family. Whether or not they'll attribute it to this vaccine or not I'm unsure. By then, we'll all be hooked on the next latest craze.

The plan does make sense. Misguided sterilisation to slow the breeding habits of the masses will definitely create a utopian ideology. One that the most interesting sci fi books and novels failed to see for around this time period.

Interesting. I was thinking, how to trigger a provaxxer, ask for a spherical earth curvature formula

Any way, did not vaxxed, nor I am planning to do that. But, need make tests every 24 hours. The argument that not vaccinated tested people are still dangerous, not working here anymore, no?

No, those who have the opportunity to get vaccinated and don't are still selfishly putting the vulnerable people around them at risk, which is, in fact dangerous.

Are you ok? If tested negative for a covid infection, you are not carying the virus, how are you still dangerous for spreading the disease?

if every anti-vaxxer took a test every 24hrs, that's a lot of spent resources and time. the rapid tests are cheap to make, but taking time out of your day to go and get one every single day and having staff to process all of them. that sounds like a lot of human resources. and the rapid tests only detect "high viral loads," so you could still be a carrier and not be detected if you only did the rapid testing

So by what you are saying, the conclusion is reached, if you take tests from monday till friday and all them are negatives, you are still a potentional disease carrer. And if you got vaccinated, and don't test at all, you absolutely not?

There's an old saying "never choose an easy way out" , if you are looking for one, that's your choice.
