Cash was/is tight so had to scour the 2nd hand market. Got a reconditioned P4 3.6Ghz, 80 GB HD (ok, bit small), 1Gb RAM, 17" Flat screen, Creative 5.1 surround sound system (stand alone unit so that's going on the TV - sod the PC), printer (coming to eBay soon), XP (not Vista thank God), plus I got him to rip the old Creative soundcard out (eBay item No.2) and put my old Audigy Platinum in there for me too so I can plug my gear straight in the front of the tower with no mucking about round the back.

Cost me the square root of fuck all and I can finally - FINALLY! - get busy writing and recording again.

I am a VERY VERY happy man again :D

do you have any recordings as such? i'm interested in hearing your music!

Sadly not. Or not any more anyway. Back when I was recording I was way more into guitar based stuff. Way more "traditional" 4-piece band stuff, guitar - bass- drums - vocals - some synths but rarely. I did dabble with some drone-like material too, even if I didn't even know what drone was back then (this was before I heard Stars of the Lid, etc.) I was just playing really. Long since lost in the realms of old dying hard-drives I'm afraid, which is a shame because some of it was quite good stuff.

Still, in many ways I'm quite glad. Means I can come to it fresh again. Fresh canvas as it were. Plus I've since seen my interest in electronica / IDM bloom which gives me a whole new area to experiment with. As and when I produce something that I think people here might like you guys will be the first to know. Right - back to installing my old sequencer, plugs-ins, etc, etc ,etc...

welcome to the apple family. if you are new to OS/X, the first week is a little painful, as you will be trying to shake all your old windows habits. after that, you will find that for once in your life your computer will work for you, not the other way around. if i can help with any questions you may have, pls dont hesitate to ask. i own a macbook core (1) duo, 512 MB ram myself. the only thing i want to upgrade is my OS and some more ram. other than that i am totally happy with my mac ^_^

I have that same camera! I also have this Polaroid- Image
In summertime I do a lot of camera hunting. I have a small collection of old cameras. I have really slowed down though.. people want way to much for their old cameras that aren't actually worth anything!

Only problem is though they've stopped making the SX70 blend film, so I now have to buy the 600 film and use an ND filter to make it less sensitive.... >.<

Alien Director's Cut (the only Alien I love, with the exception of the second part which stars Michael Biehn who is an awesome actor)

A new cartridge for my record player cause the old (and rather cheap one) caused some trouble that is now eliminated. yesss! it is crazy what you can get out of vinyl in terms of signal quality and differences by just switching certain parts. I am currently rediscovering all my records.

Plus I got myself a power supply for the very same analog record player which enables me to switch between 33 and 45 rpm with the push of a button. Way better than having to manually shift the pulley itself every single darn time. Especially concerning the records that have been recorded with 33 on one side and with 45 on the other.

Im happy. :)

I'm quite enjoying lightscribe, what do you make of it? I guess you do like it as you invested in 100 CDRs of it. They are coming out with colour lightscribe soon ya know.
