My ticket to see Depeche Mode in March. I may not have been able to see NIN this year, but at least I got the jump on this one.

Kitchen table. Sat drinking wine and listening to music with a jigsaw on the go last night. Bliss.

Jigsaws? Britain really is being taken back through time to the 70s then.

Also, I'm not knocking jigsaws, I love a good puzzle. Doing the edges and corners first then filling in the inner is the best method. Tangent over.

The last thing I bought was the second Adrian Mole novel by Sue Townsend, and it's a first edition 'an all.

It was really enjoyable! And we have the same strategy.

I paid too much for a record today as well. QOTSA self titled original pressing. 300 damn euros.
Why do we buy vinyl?!!

Ouch! That's a high price.

Talking of record keeping, I always imagine all the faff that comes with vinyl. Have I got the right turntable? Is my needle damaged? And... argh dust!!! What are you doing trapped in the grooves of my copy of A Trick of the Tail?!
Nah. A little thing called a Compact Disc is where it's at. They are technology's little miracle.

I think the tinkering aspect is really fun. I love having the possibility of swapping out different carts, adjusting tracking force, making the platter "bounce for 15 seconds" etc. It's all part of the charm for me.
For dealing with dust there are many record cleaning machines and anti static sleeves, brushes etc. All part of the fun!
The problem is though, and always will be, the fact that I'll never be able to afford it all!

Aye, I probably would have a lotta fun with vinyl too if it wasn't for the quid spending aspect. Time is money. Or vice versa.

I don't really care about what pressing I get. I just wanna own the piece of music I like. Unfortunately, some albums are just gonna cost you upwards of 80 euro's haha.

Unfortunately, music CD's are the only thing of interest that I get for a few bob. :]

1. The Grateful Dead - Live/Dead (1969)

2. The Grateful Dead - Workingman's Dead (1970)

3. Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night (1974)

4. King Curtis - Live at Fillmore West (1971)

Are you a Withnail fan? That version of A Whiter Shade of Pale is really something. Pure magic.

One of the very reasons I went for it! Withnail and I is an absolute favourite film of mine.

I have days where I am just if not more camped up and extravagant as Richard E. Grant.

It's endlessly quotable. I often think of Withnail when it's time to do the washing up.

That's right, put on the gloves. Don't attempt anything without the gloves!

Also... "I've a heart condition. I've a heart condition. If you hit me it's murder!"
