I went and saw their live show last night. It's been awhile since I've seen any live act, so perhaps my expectations were low enough where a monkey could peel a banana on stage and I've have an aneurysm. Needless to say, the show was pretty hilarious. They mixed in some season 4 clips, and all I can say is that D-Pants were imagined with my life in mind. They seemed genuinely excited that the show was sold out and the enthusiasm of the crowd was good. However, some of their greatest characters were absent (Jan and Wayne, Breadheads), but looking back on it now, I'm not sure how they would have involved them.

At any rate, great job!

can't believe i missed this thread the first time around.

i was thinking of starting one myself but so many of the people i've talked to hate Tim & Eric Awesome Show i decided i wouldn't bother starting a hatefest.

personally i love it. i think it's some of the best humor available anywhere.

this may sound like lunacy but i don't think it's just straight random idiocy. i actually get more of a feeling that this type of humor is like, hyper-aware of the sensibilities of modern people, and that's why it's so good at taking all those unspoken sensibilities and just turning them inside out and putting them all right out there upside down.

It sure makes me feeling oddly weird alot. And just about evey episode has something in it that is way over the line, IMO. The child clown advert was very disturbing! Still I have gotten used to their humor and that took about a year of watching it.

EXACTLY! Most of the guests on the show view it in the same light. It was either John C Reilly or Zach Galifinakis who said that the style of humor reminds them of being a child, which is exactly what I'm getting out of it. I remember when I was like 6 or 7 years old, and I came up with this drawing that I lovingly titled "The Poop Car". It was a car that ran on fecal matter and had this giant tube coming out of the engine that shot it out into the air behind the vehicle... highly disturbing and inefficient idea... anyway... you can imagine my joy when I saw the Poop Tube sketch!

The show is silly, absurdest, childish, but structured in such a way that it fucking delivers. Half the time it's not even about the jokes, but the editing! Brilliantly bizarre and hilarious!

Really excited for Season Cinco! Back in summer, Tim and Eric did an interview where they said that people are going to be very disturbed or scared by it! They also said they draw equal humor from the awkwardness of The Office as they do from David Lynch films... which is perfect!

I love how horribly offended Depeche Mode fans were by this video! Eric definitely did his job. Depeche Mode meets Eric Wareheim is like fire and ice. I saw it before I knew who directed it, and I kept getting the exact same off kilter vibe I got from Awesome Show. I remember thinking, "God! This seems frighteningly familiar!"

When I figured it out, it was like, holy shit! One of my long time favorite bands teaming up with one of the guys from my new favorite TV show! Wow!

Ha, when I talked to Fly Lo about this, he said that he was worried because he thinks people will watch that and instantly think that he's some sort of pervert, and they'll expect him to keep working on stuff like that.
