Old Tunes Vol. 2

Fri Mar 18, 2011 5:14 pm

first and foremost. i have a hard time using our forums search engine. it never seems to find the topic i am looking for. so i am hoping this thread isnt already here.

anyway. i was wondering if anybody has a correct copy of side A from old tunes vol. 2.. the copy that i have, and most people have. puts the tracks iraq says, and nine rubber wisdom, into one single track..

also, the songs sir prancelot brainfire and david came to mahan'im both contain the track sir prancelot brainfire.. the tracktitles simply become messed up after iraq says.. and according to BOCpages. heysanna hosanna is a 59 second track, and the version i have is only 7 seconds.

i was hoping somebody has a corrected version of old tunes vol 2. if not i guess i will just have to live with the minor errors.

Try using the google search enginge. Just type in site:twoism.org after you type in your search. It works much better than the twoism.org search function.

I have it :)

I fixed it on my files a few years back. It was pretty easy using Audacity. It's just a couple or three files that you need. The others just need to be renamed. If you need 'em email me: ewinkelman (at) gmail dotcom.

Do you have Old Tunes Vol.2 in some lossless format (like flac) ? if you do that with mp3 files the quality will be reduced a lot.

It's ripped from a cassette tape anyway. Does it really matter?

For what it is worth I used a program called Free YouTube to MP3 Converter from DVDVideoSoft to solve that problem. I simply found the correct songs on YouTube and used the converter to make them into 320kbps MP3s. Done and done.

well, yeah. especially since people sliced it up from mp3s a million of times and it's all transcoded to shit. if there's an original flac/wav (not mp3 sourced) of any of the old tunes stuff please pm me a link, i'm trying to find it for years now.

last night i recieved a link to old tunes vol. 2 which had the corrected the errors i spoke about earlier in the thread

it was great because my copy played sir prancelot brainfire twice, so i got to hear north sea arbeit for the first time.. kind of cool to have a fresh BOC song to listen to.

heres the strange part.

i have a 7 second clip on my copy of old tunes vol. 2, which isnt actually on the album..
the song itself seems to be something taken from a black and white film, in which you hear one of the actors say "the inspector has been questioning me again about gary." in the background you can hear a very old school sounding flute with a tv theme type effect.

can anybody clear this up a bit?

Yeah I have it too. For my version it's called: boc - old tunes vol. 2 - 16 - unnamed 'bridge' track

Seven seconds goes by too quickly for me to care but I am curious as to what the sample is.

Hmm isn't all this lossless perfection defeating the very modus operandi of the brothers which is to make the sound have that worn out dithered feeling? ;)

after listening to the correct copy of old tunes vol. 2. it seems as though the sample i am talking about, is actually the last 7 seconds of heysanna hosanna, and is not a seperate track. on the original version of old tunes that i had with the errors in tracklisting, it was labeled as a seperate track, even though it simply at the end of heysanna

They're mp3s.

I just found this same error (shit got fucked in/after Iraq Says) and im nabbing another side A right now that allegedly has this fixed, although iraq says and nine rubber wisdom are now one track, and there is that extra 7 second 'short interlude' (thats what its called on this one) after heysanna. Is this generally considered to be correct / legit? (disregarding the merging of two tracks, and the splitting of another... its all gapless playback anyway).
