all very nice purchases :D

Nice. Seems as if we have similar taste in literature. Have you peeled through Society of the Spectacle yet? I've been meaning to get my hands on it. I also have Comrade Tulayev sitting on my shelf somewhere—sadly neglected by my short attention span.

I've recently picked up Clandestine in Chile by Gabriel García Márquez and The Devil in the Kithcen by Marco Pierre White.

I don't know why I'm so fascinated by chef memoirs. I read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain and I couldn't put it down.

I haven't read through it yet, im currently reading "The Magic Mountain" bu Thomas Mann then "The Magus" and then "Daniel Martin" (bit of a John Folwes theme going on at the moment) I have lots of time off so im getting through the mountain of books I own but haven't read yet. I suggest reading "The Man Without Qualities" if you like modern/post modern writing, it's so well written, unfinished yet no word is wasted, truly astonishing.

The three books I previously mentioned are my most recent purchases along with some blue slim Chinos, dressing smart this summer!

Which synths?

I'm a synth geek so I'm interested.
The last synth I got was a Yamaha TX81z for a steal price of $80.

nord lead 2x and a juno 60. I plan on doing the minerva upgrade eventually to the Juno 60, after I build my Shruthi-1. I've never done DIY and had to borrow some soldering equipment from a friend. The minerva really turns the Juno 60 into a fully functioning synth with far more control and midi and it doesn't look too hard.

The Nord lead is sort've an all rounder I don't know if I'll like or not. In the stores I always hated it. It is a dry brite sounding synth and requires processing like many do. The prophet 5 has reached territory that isn't easy to get at and the jupiter 8 has gone sky high. Someone sent me some demos of the nord that convince me that it is has the ability to be layered and sound quite like the prophet and arp on occasion. He was able to nail Jean Michel Jarre Oxygene with it almost perfectly.

I posted pics of the studio over on What BoCers look like on page 71.
