I like that too.
It's similar to the 4th compilation's image in that it's going away from the nostalgia feel, the BoC-y type stuff.

As much as I like the design on subset's there's one issue. There's a circle in the middle. Looks fantastic but it's very similar to volume 4 though and I'm not sure it would look good in sequence.

Subset, maybe you should try a triangle or some other shape. Heh, maybe a hexagon?

Aesthetics, I sent you an email regarding the track I sent you. I don't think it should go on the comp, it's not very good.

Yeah fellas. It is quite similar compared to the 4th cover. Its not bad but maybe something else than a circle..?

I like the re-use of the circle. Again, it creates a link to the previous release, which I think works. Still, each to their own.

Please though, not a hexagon. Short of shouting 'Orange' and putting woolly hats and beards on the cd case, you couldn't get more clichéd.

Surely it should be a Pentagon?. This is OOT 5 isn't it? Is there anything more fitting than a 5 sided shape?

Cheers guys, glad you find it interesting.

I admit to being somewhat obsessed with circles. :)

For the insert and the back I was planning to also have clean geometrical shapes set atop nature shots, but with diminishing number of angles (if we consider a circle as shape with infinite number of angles), i.e. a hexagon inside, and a triangle on the back.

The pentagon idea though is really neat! Perhaps the shape progression from front to back could go pentagon -> square -> triangle, which will also make the concept much more obvious...

I also agree that a circle is great, if only all of the album covers had a circle in them, that would've been a nice running thing.

Hope I'm not annoying anyone by making a bunch of these, but the more the better.

god damn. that's the best one yet. if it doesn't get used for OoT5, would you mind reputzing with it so I can use it for my band's upcoming album?

I absolutely LOOOVE they way the pentagon impacts me as some sort of titan.

BUT...

I think the picture should be something more...meaningful. Don't get me wrong, I love the soul you put in your photography, but I feel a sunset with trees is a little to broad for a compilation that is driven/inspired by certain themes. Maybe expand a little more on that OR get that pentagram integrated more with the scenery somehow, so it becomes the driving force of the scenery?

Also I think the noise outer glow for the pentagram should look less like Photoshop wants it to look like.

Typography is very well executed but feels a little safe. You used a similar layout for the back-cover before.

I couldn't have done it better though, so don't think I mean anything like that
:P I really like it. Just some pointers on what I would want from this compilation I guess.
