That was my first question when he said back catalogue, sorry I meant official releases sadly. Was hoping he'd get something rare or cryptic but alas it was just CDs.

immense

oh lordy i can almost feel it, this one is gonna blow us to the wall.

to have the confidence just to tease the final with a short video of ambience...
most bands would have fell to demand and lobbed up one track at least.
this confidence tells me this is going to blow us away, this is 8 years of perfected work like

if this leaks i dont give a fuck, i'm gonna leak it all over myself right there and then
well, i'll try to find a quiet private area but i may not make it...

i would've loved that fake(?) version of sick times to be the opener. it's so monolithic and just perfect to open with.

Just two syllables: immense? He didn't say more than that? Isn't your friend a writer?

I almost couldn't read that first bit about it, I just don't want anyone else's impression to be my first thought of it. Immense says it all!

He even got given the whole back catalogue on cd and Bibio's too. I can't wait for this now!

So he's bullshitting? At least no one can lie about there being a new release anymore.

I don't think they hand out stuff like that, not even to reviewers.. Just the record in question and maybe a related single or something. Unless they want to bribe the reviewer for a positive review!

By the way, am I the only one who keeps reading Uritual as "Urinal"?

Sort of, it always makes me think of the way indiginous siberians used to take amanita muscaria. Which I guess you could call a "Urine ritual". Anyway, it always makes me think of pee, and I choose to believe that's not an accident.

Yeah where did that come from? If it says "ambient" somewhere it's probably because there's probably no better word to describe it, like most of their music. Also whatever release you look at iTunes it lists Brian Eno as an influence.

No but I mean - I don't get this equivocation between "ambient" and "bullshit". It would seem to me that some of Boards of Canada's richest moments "Olson", "Constants are Changing", "Over the Horizon Radar", "Tears from the Compound Eye" etc etc are all quote unquote ambient and yet for some reason there seems to be quite a bit of fretting in this thread over the horrible possibility that the album might be "ambient".

Don't get it.
