Hi, I just registered at last.fm. My name is FrequentC.

Has anybody registered as a label to get their personal music up on there? I just gave it a shot but I don't know much about the place. Got any info?

Have you guys been using that Last.fm Radio? Quite convenient for discovering new cool artists (global tag radio "idm", etc) but it very often plays mislabeled music, for example all of what I've heard of Campfire Headphase on Last.fm have been fake tracks..!? :?

I haven't even bothered with that yet.

I'm still waiting on them to authorize my label. I want to get my music on there.

<i>Boards of Canada are a Scottish electronic music duo comprising brothers Michael Sandison (b. 14 July 1971) and Marcus Eoin Sandison (b. 27 May 1973). They have released a number of works, most notably Music Has the Right to Children and Geogaddi, with little advertising and few interviews.

Most consider Boards of Canada to be largely influenced by ambient and idm. They have frequently made reference to the warm, scratchy, artificial sounds of 1970's television. Indeed, the Sandison brothers admit to being inspired by the documentary films of the National Film Board of Canada, from which they take their name. The duo have recorded a few minor works under the name Hell Interface.</i>

Nice and effective description.

Hmm.. those are some really cool tunes.

Nice hollowed out vocal sample on "Come Walk in the Woods With Me". Very reminiscent of Whitewater. The deep synthy bit towards the end is sweet too!

"Nordic Port Work" is like a calmer version of Skyliner.

I'm wondering.. do you site BoC as an influence? :)

Where are more tunes?

So... nothing is EVER easy.

Why is it that my last fm page http://www.last.fm/user/-thedisavowed-/ does NOTHING? I thought it was supposed to automatically update from my i-tunes?

Help the technologically incompetent!!!

started using it two days ago:

http://www.last.fm/user/Frederik81/

had to tag my whole music collection for this to be useful.. luckily some programs do this automagically ;)

and uhm thedisavowed are you sure you installed the proper plugins for itunes? you should have installed ths scrobbler plugin for itunes... when you install the last.fm tool he searches for your audio players and then installs the proper plugin, in normal circumstances of course...

Although... some of the tags LastFM has for this stuff are shit.

Especially the tags for Tri-Repetae and Aphex's "On". I wonder if users are allowed to edit these.
