I voted 'No'. But it depends on what you mean by 'Good enough'.
Good enough as in: in line with their top notch albums MHTRTC and Geogaddi? No, it will not even come close to it.
Good enough for a proper Boards of Canada release? I guess, yes it's good enough. They want to try out different stuff and that's ok but it's not just a special as their old material imo...

It's more than good enough. It's too good. It will be a hard act to follow.

I'm not too sure why you constantly need to preach that you don't rate this album, with it nearly being 2 years old. You don't like it, we get it. Music is subjective, I happen to believe it's a great album, tons of effort for me has clearly gone into the production. If quite happily have another geogaddi but they aren't the kind of artist that rests on its laurels. I think you would be better off concentrating on the positives.

I say it all the time because that's the album that's being discussed all the time here AND their newest material. Everything has positives, doesn't mean everything is good

Before this descends into the same arguments we've had several times, from both sides, can we perhaps try a little restraint please?

Some people like it.
Some don't.
Doesn't make either right or wrong.
'Your' ears wont fit my head and vice versa ;-)

If no, I would ask for an example something similar to it and possibly better

Not a dig at you Naj. If anything I was commenting on why we need to discuss the merits of his album yet again? ;-)

in my opinion, i feel like the timing of tomorrow's harvest is what created a lot of people to be let down by the album.

i mean, the waiting game was played for like 8 years, and a lot of boc fans were hoping for an album just completely jam packed with layers upon layers of hidden meanings and surprises. instead, the album was probably boc's slowest and dreariest work to date.

i personally enjoy tomorrow's harvest. but at the same time can completely understand why others may not enjoy it.

TWOISM

seems

to be

losing it

same thread over and over again

good enough in relation to what? expectations and ideas.

the difference between between all our critical, comparative, analytic blabbering is that BOC actually put a coherent transmission to be listened to.

the idea of TH being an objectively bad record is an illusion just as the idea that all our blissful experiences listening to BOC can be imbued in every moment we hear their music is also an illusion.

listen without any preconceived attachments or judgements or keep walking into the same wall!

There are things to talk about in every corner of this forum if you take the time to engage someone rather than run around telling people that TH is shit and that all beatles albums are light sounding.

And I won't veil my insults either. All over this forum people are trying to have interesting conversations. I haven't seen you involved in one single one. I've just seen you spout infantile musical opinions while everyone else eventually tells you to shut the fuck up and realises that anyone who thinks an album only has one mood kind of invalidates his own opinion. Incidentally, there were discussions going on about that very subject in another thread, i'm pretty sure you didn't pick up on them. I've posted with such a strong reply because the people here have made me feel very welcome here and I love it, but you've stuck out like a sore thumb recently as someone who either needs to learn how to discuss issues subjectively, or keep your opinions to yourself.

And TH is good enough. If you really don't think it is then I think you either have some growing up to do (in realising that BoC don't owe you quality as YOU perceive it) or you should go and give us something better.
