P.S. You are a smart guy, you really are. At the very least, smarter than me when it comes to patterns and numerals. There are so many things you could be focusing that brain power of yours on right now that could take you to some pretty unexpectedly interesting places in life.

Thank you for the concern, I guess my brain already pays the bills so I'm not sure what else I can ask of it really. In terms of getting outdoors, the trails are a real passion of mine but we're not quite there yet in my neck of the woods. I'll be spending a lot of time out there as I always do, hopefully within another week or two once things finish drying out, the snowstorm yesterday did it no favors!

I would say that IF there is a pattern (I'm convinced, obviously) the major lull/data dump (video playlist) took place during the perfect time of year to contemplate something like that. I'd conclude that doing it this way actually respects peoples' time, even if its taking a long time. When you know that they are going to be adding some kind of new data only once a month or so, if even that, and the presumed endgame is months, not weeks away, a sane person isn't going to spend that much time actively thinking about it.

I might say 1) how does this fit with what's come before? 2) when is the next step? 3) Make post(s) on Twoism about steps 1 and 2. These 3 steps take up maybe 15 minutes of brainpower in the evening over a beer while winding down. It probably took longer to write this post than I spent thinking about whatever it is that they've been up to over the past week or two!

Don't mistake the ability to quickly parse new data, or the process of making a couple of message board posts about said data as something that is occupying an immense amount of personal time. This isn't your gran putting together a 2000 piece puzzle on the porch, once you have your expectations about the overall flow of it sorted, it doesn't take too long to figure things out.

The way I see it, they've only done one ARG with us and now forums like this has a few too many people thinking any future news from Mike and Marcus will be fed to us in the form of subtle mathematical equations and the like. I think there's something to be said for overthinking things. It's kind of a shame that ever since Geogaddi and all the mystique they gave that album in interviews regarding their love of academics and subtle messages that now that's all some people associate them with. Between Geogaddi's release all the way up to the ARG for the TH announcement, I don't think they even ever teased fans subtly with anything like what is being assumed now, did they?

If I had to guess, the whole ARG event was a one-off thing to satisfy those who had developed this whole BOC mystique around the group and that's it. But don't take this the wrong way, this isn't criticism (or not intended to be, at least) of anyone thinking otherwise. I don't mind seeing what users come up with here since it's interesting regardless and you do truly never know. I just hate seeing people get their hopes up over what could ultimately be nothing. Not to mention it sort of assumes a bit too much about how BOC chooses to reach out to fans. The interviews they've given alone shows they're just normal guys that aren't looking to always pick at our brains just to get our attention.

I'd actually be impressed they'd choose to go the ARG route again for any release announcements. Not that it wouldn't be fun.

what I think, these youtube posts/twits are related to the BOC creative process, some people during the creative process adopt some weird rituals to achieve major milestones during the process. For example, just finished this beat for the track, so I will post something to establish it psychologicaly, (just for my self) and also to show the fans, that we are active.

It actually helps, to keep with the work schedules, especially if it mathematically deliberate like Opothecary is saying. It provides your creative process with the discipline, which should help to achieve the goal.

I like this idea. It's fun to search for patterns in their posts, but unless you can reach a conclusion and definitively predict their next post or something, I don't think it holds any water. They've been liking people's twitter posts asking about new material since last year, which is as far as the hype train goes for me. The process behind releasing Tomorrow's Harvest is the coolest way an album has ever been released as far as I'm concerned, and it was tons of fun the whole way through. If they do end up going a similar route with a new album (which isn't even certain, they may just put out a new track one day), it'll probably be in a more significant way than just hiding patterns in twitter posts.

Opothocary, I apologise for being mistaken to a certain extent. As long as it is something you aren't devoting serious amounts of time to, there is no harm in looking for connections. I had this mental image of someone hunched over a keyboard, constantly going over BoC posts and devoting a lot of their time to trying to find connections between them and it was worrying me somewhat. As you say, it is a bit of a hobby to you that you barely spend any time on and just focus on once in a while, that's absolutely fine. I am sorry for my preconceptions about your actions.

I was probably only concerned based on the level of obsession I had before the TH release. I spent a lot of time smoking grass (glad that isn't something I do anymore) and finding connections that weren't there whilst devoting a lot of my life to my computer. It left me rather unhappy but I was younger and didn't understand technology's more sinister side in terms of addictive potential.

I'd say that for TH, that was almost done under duress and was kind of a necessary evil as part of their comeback - social media proliferation and 8 years had passed since a proper album, so I think Warp really turned the screws to get them to agree to something like that. It ended up being very true to their aesthetic, but I think if it were really up to them, they would be doing something more like this.

In this case, it's an incredibly passive and subtle ARG, it's just a numeric/time based version of the black box that used to be on their website prior to TH. It has a few people wondering but ultimately 99% of their fans will probably just wake up one day to an announcement, the entire timeline will be documented on BoCpages after the fact and people will say "huh interesting" and move on to anticipating and enjoying the release once there's actual news.

Ultimately an ARG heading up to an album release is just something fun for the fanbase to chew on, it's not going to change any actual plans, the passage of time will get us to where we're going without any input on our parts. It is funny that BoC has done such a good job of priming their fanbase to wait that a 4 or 4 1/2 year gap between albums is looked at as potentially unreasonable.

You could almost look at it as a social experiment at this point, who believes and who doesn't? The flip from 48 to 84 this year probably bred a few new skeptics but it's something I anticipated shortly before they started back up again.

Thanks for your concern but again it's all math and waiting out time, obsessing accomplishes nothing once you "get" whatever it is that they've apparently established with their next step. You can make a quick likely guess or two on the next ones on an enthusiast message board and then move on with your day.

I saw what they did with Dayvan and within a couple minutes realized they had indeed went the mirror route, flipped to 84 and that the addition/multiplication steps had reversed (now we multiply in odd months) and that was the end of it. A few days later, I think we were talking about something in Telegram/WATB and I went to look for a video and realized they had added one more, a few more minutes of mulling it over led me to what I posted earlier in the thread and that was it. I have definitely spent more time posting about it than thinking about it, and that's probably the point.

Going back to what I said about it being a social experiment, I think it's a little like those 3D pictures they used to sell at all the malls in the mid 90s, I could never see the hidden picture for the life of me in those, no matter what. I really was like the guy in Mallrats who couldn't see the sailboat in the picture, so I totally get how some people see something here and others don't.

I've thought about it, and I think in my case it was easy for me to pick out a pattern last year because a substantial part of my job (I flip burgers for the internet) involves handing out allotments of static IP addresses to our subscribers in CIDR blocks, ie. a /30 eats up 4 IP addresses, /29 is 8, /28 is 16, etc. so I spend a lot of time thinking in 4s when dividing up a class C block of IPs in my day to day life. It's basically like I was already primed for it ahead of time and I'd say maybe many people weren't.

i think all the mathematical equating you guys are doing is awesome. why not mess around with the numbers and see what unfolds. you guys obviously understand that stuff better than i do, and boc seem to be obsessed with numbers and math as well. so it doesn't hurt to see if they are using some type of rhythm with their releases and musical composition.

It wasn't that difficult to figure out - Trump is the Hollywood celebrity that the disaffected blue collar culture in this country views as the embodiment of success, all shiny things, bluster, golden thrones.

It was only a matter of time for the Fox brainwashing to kick in, to say "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" enough to blame "the other" for the loss of their jobs, not automation and corporate greed. Now they are just as disenfranchised as other groups in this country have been for hundreds of years.

Speaking of that, I remember watching the Wizard of Oz when I was 5 years old and the scene where they go to see the Wizard sort of seems like the type of bamboozle that the uneducated and naive would fall far, and Trump is the embodiment of that. I figured out not to trust someone like Trump from a kids movie when I was that young, what's everyone else's problem?

What's more fascinating is to me that this album also predicted Russia's successful undermining of Western values and their infiltration into our government. Crazy stuff.

Wikileaks, who have an stunning record for honesty, have always maintained that the emails came from a member of the DNC, who was angered at their manipulation and undermining of Bernie Sanders, that handed them over as a point of principle knowing that Hillary was in the wrong.
The person who physically received the briefcase containing the email transcripts, from an American in Washington DC, has publicly spoken of this event in a news column. The Russia allegation comes from Clinton's wanting to deflect blame away from herself.

I am not a Trump supporter. I just believed that he was the lesser of two evils and is nowhere near as corrupt, racist and against the working class as Hillary.

I am probably the only person who likes both Jeremy Corbyn and Donald Trump. If you ignore the fact that they are both undergoing constant media smear campaigns, the overlap in some of their policies is actually remarkable given that they are on opposite ends of a fictional spectrum.

This is just hysteria and a repeat of the Red Scare/ paranoia as part of the Media's smear campaign working hand in glove with globalist elites.
