^ If someone told me BoC were involved in the first track you posted of the two, I might actually be inclined to believe them. The other, not so much.

Here's the credits for all the features on that particular track. Weird to see them credited as so. I wonder what part of the track they did, perhaps the ambience you hear in the background like a minute or so in? https://www.discogs.com/UNKLE-The-Road- ... e/13424335

https://www.discogs.com/artist/1115969-BOC This is the BoC credited in the song isnt it? Not Boards of Canada but some other boc?

Yeah that's the weird thing. I originally posted the discogs link since I wasn't sure if people were aware of it being anywhere without a source but then I realize the topic link says it. I'm stupid. XD

But yeah, this is what's weird... as it's a different BoC but it could be this obscure person with the same name who worked on the track, since they make "leftfield" electronica and thats not far from what UNKLE is known for.

Perhaps someone out there can give a confirmation. Does UNKLE have a twitter? Would it be rude to ask?

Most likely a different BOC?

God bless, I hope he pulls through.
Good find, though. Thanks. That certainly puts the subject to rest as far as I am concerned, it is most likely O'Connor.

Wow, that's awful he's been battling cancer, but also kind of cool he contributed to this song!

Aw man, that's awful to hear O'Conner having cancer. I hope he can pull through the best he can. :( Discogs needs to definitely update that BoC listing, because no way in hell is Brian O'Conner the same "BoC" that's shown on the page (which is some Chinese electronica???)

He is/was the bassist for Eagles of Death Metal - so if you want to hear his stuff, check them out

Ah. That makes more sense. Thanks everyone for sleuthing that one out.

Back to the barren wasteland of waiting for new BOC material...at least we got that Dead Dogs Two instrumental.

Can’t believe it’s been a year since I posted this; anyway, Record Store Day 2019 is tomorrow...

I believe that BoC are through, and will never release anything again. Their interviews in 2013 reflected an outlook that they thought humanity was heading towards its expiration, and nothing that has happened since has done anything but double down on confirming that feeling. They're paranoid about the internet, cynical about the environment, self - described nihilists who don't believe in humanity anymore. If anything they'd release something to fulfill a contract with Warp, and they most certainly don't care about impact beyond that. I'm perfectly happy if they never release anything ever again, knowing they've influenced a ton of genres and artists we all know and listen to nowadays. Though it'd be sick if they remixed something my band made lol

Underground nuclear bunkers are expensive! I'm sure they still are going to release 2-3 more albums before they've paid off their mortgage on it.

And why would all that be a reason for them not to release anything anymore? I fail to see a connection here.

The brothers aren’t done. They’ve said in 2013 interviews that they don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Not only that but I feel that their Twitter is a nice way of letting us know they’re still here and still planning on stuff. This isn’t the first time we’ve had a gap of semi-scilence, so trust me when I say we’re going to see more releases. Don’t forget about Warp30!!

Let's not forget that the "radio silence" between TCH and TH was way more... silent. If I'm not mistaken, all we had was a black box for two years. At least this time around we have a weird Twitter game going on. They will release a new record soon. Probably this year if I had to guess.

This. They also, fairly explicitly, stated that the wait between releases would be shorter this time around. Or at least that they intend for it to be. Silence is usually golden in this situation as it likely means they are hard at work.
