azamarro wrote:I attended a Madlib concert recently (although I'm not really into hip-hop due to my problems with many of the lyrics) and as a background visual they were showing scenes from the movie Planète sauvage, although I didn't really know it at the time what it was. But it was so creepy and haunting... and seemed oddly familiar. I ended up paying more attention to the visuals of this movie than to Madlib himself. Then I remembered that my local indie music store used to stock the soundtrack of this film and that I had the image permanently burnt into my mind from browsing through so many times. That's how I remembered the name.
So anyway, I Googled it and it's a bit expensive to obtain, but is available free to watch in 7 parts on youtube.com under keyword "fantastic planet"-- the American title.
Basically about creepy blue giants that keep humans as pets on their planet. Completely animated and looks similar to Monty Python animations or parts of Yellow Submarine movie.
