Schitt's Creek has been my favourite series this year. It's unashamedly sentimental and there's no cynical edge to it at all (which would have been easy/ tempting to do from a writing point of view), but I really liked how genuinely warm-hearted it is.

The writing is great, the jokes are funny and the characters are likeable and you find yourself as a viewer really rooting for *everyone*.

Maybe I'm getting soft as I get older, or maybe its a symptom of All This in 2020, but it was nice to watch something that was..... just... nice.

Heard lots about it, but haven't caught up with Schitt's Creek yet. Thanks, guess it's time to check it out.

Ted Lasso has a similar positive vibe that has definitely chimed with people looking for distraction from the current mood. I liked it, though not as much as some people, although it's not really my kind of thing. So i guess that's a recommendation.

BBC has a great doc about DB Cooper on at the moment.

Definitely our feelgood comedy hit of this year. A perfect antidote to these frequently grim times.

Schitt's Creek is everything and made me sob for hours.

I just started Legion and maintain my opinion that everything Aubrey Plaza touches turns to gold (except the Grumpy Cat movie).

I just finished Maniac and loved it. It's very funny but it has a kind of dry, absurdist humor, and also very psychedelic sci-fi. Almost feels like something Philip K Dick would've written.

It's like Black Mirror meets Inception.

Judging by that clip it sounds like Adam Curtis has been listening to a fair bit bit of Brian McBride recently.

Well I am not a big fan of TV, or Netflix, but I watched this last week and it was actually pretty good.

The Spy

Don't let the fact that Sacha Baron Cohen is the lead actor, he totally nailed it in this war time drama.

Me & Mrs_A_Northern_Soul are really into This Is Us - it can be a little corny and over-sentimental at times, but it is generally really good - the makers are clearly going for the TV equivalent of the sprawling Great American Novel and it kind of works.

The 70s set scenes have a great soundtrack too.

Currently enjoying Ramy https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7649694/

similar vibe to High Maintanance

Also watched The Great https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2235759/

which was more superficial but good fun

Just started watching The Serpent on iPlayer:

Seems pretty good so far, but the mid-70s look and feel (the clothes!) are brilliant and the soundtrack is fantastic.

Nice, this seems interesting.

I have just started watching Tales From The Loop, it's very good so far.
